Okay I really feel that the Republicans are trying to find ANYTHING to win, they will scour anybody's speeches for a little of something. Not to say that he didn't say something stupid..but Bush has said numerous things that weren't very bright in the 100's!

You are right. The way he worded his lame joke was not smart. The fact is though, as long as the administration and the Republicans seeking office can keep the emphasis on Kerry's comments, the longer they can avoid facing questions on failed policies on their watch. I fully understand why they have intentionally misunderstood and mis represented his comments.
If you watch the answers you receive to your question you will see a lot of their followers doing the same thing.
