Contingent of getting his license back? I'm not an attorney but common sense says no. But there are bells ringing in my head that tell me anybody can receive contingency fees for just about anything. Hmmm. Here's my answer. Yes an attorney can be paid for contingency fees. You didn't ask if it were legal or not. =)

I looked around a bit just out of curiosity. Here's a link stating a suspended Attorney can receive fees for work done prior to the suspension. But that's Nebraska law.
"The compensation paid to a suspended attorney may include contingency fees earned by the suspended attorney prior to the suspension. "

No. My understanding is a disbarred attorney is no longer permitted to practice law. Therefore, cannot collect contingent or other fees assessed prior to the disbarment. Since he is no longer eligible to represent clients, any past charges assessed, I would think, would be null and void. Why not ask the Bar Association where you would stand on this?

It is my understanding that once they are disbarred they can not practice law. However, if they have money coming to them prior to their disbarring they may be able to collect that money but not anything after that. I would check with your local bar association to be sure.

I think it depends on whether he/she was disbarred before or after the services were rendered. Check with your local BAR association or look up their website.

if they are disbarred then they can't practice. If they can't practice, they shouldn't be collecting any fees.
