This campaighn I have not heard what they are going to do? but have heard too much about non payment of taxes,he is wrong for Ohio etc. 100 % negativity!!will they reall y do the job they are elected to do?the PEOPLES business?

Will the Democrats and Republicans hatred turn into actual fighting? The comments one reads on here suggest they might. The comments from the democratic side are so hate filled what will they do about it? If they lose will they fight? If the Republicans lose will they no longer be able to stand the Democrats? The last few elections have become more and more nasty.

I know there has got to be all kinds of organizations that work with soldiers stationed far away from home during the holidays. I'd like to know what I can do. I would be honored to be a "Secret Santa" for anyone serving in Iraq or Afghanistan to a little one (or two) here in the Buffalo, New York area.

Perhaps we can put something together and make this a special holiday season for many people.

Anyone interested let me know. Anyone willing to be a Secret Santa in your area pay attention too.

The death toll for both the Iraqis and the US troops continuing to rise what is happenning out there? Theses are real people with real loving caring families behind them worrying about them, not just statistics or numbers! We don't seem to have any overall objective. Bush is confused himself saying that he's now "changing tactics". What were the tactics in the first place? What he tells us and what the facts tell us seem to be 2 different things. Surely we can't just continue like this, can we? Many of the troops are now themselevs asking to be bought home. If thats the case that just tells you how despearate the situation is getting!

Then why does the Mexican government have a guest worker program for 40,000 Guatemalans? The Mexican government states that Mexicans won't do the jobs that Guatemalans will do and that Mexicans are unreliable. How do you answer this?

Lately I have seen quite a few of our men and women in uniform who are stationed overseas answering questions here in these Forums. Call me a sensitive fool, but it is heartwarming knowing that we are not totally cutoff from all of you.

If you are serving in Iraq, Afghanistan or South Korea you know better than most what is really happening in those regions of the world.

I am interested in what you have to say. I would like to know what we back here at home may be able to do to help you get your message out.

I can't serve, I am physically incapable and relatively old. *wink*
I wish I could serve though. I believe in what you are doing for our country and it would be an honor to be next to you.

Anything we can do for you back here?

Quite clearly, our antagonism towards "foreigners", when it exists, is almost exclusively directed against either Afro Caribbeans or those from the Indian sub-continent.

However, in both WWI and WWII citizens from our former colonies fought alongside British troops in a most magnificent way.

In contrast, in the lifetimes of many British citizens alive today, the most unimaginable horrors were perpetrated against us and our allies by the Japanese and Germans, yet our roads are almost choc-a-bloc with Japanese and German cars.

How can this be?

I"m wondering if the cop that wrote me the ticket (speeding) didn't send it in. It was my first ticket EVER, (I am 32 and have been driving since 16), he was very nice. . .I was on a country road, it was sunny. I was doing 19 over the limit. He was so nice. . .he didn't take my licence away, he suggested to use cruise control and not to go 10mph over the limit. I called the county to pay the ticket and they couldn't find it. (I called two weeks after it was written.) She told me to call back in a week or so. I'll call next week, but I'm wondering if he is just not going to 'turn it in'? Like I said, this is my first ticket, I am new to this. THanks!

The event coordinators get what they want, and if the scalper can't sell them he loses money. If I purchase the right to sit in a certain seat, why can't I sell my right to the highest bidder? It's not like buying a CD, copying it, and selling multiple copies. I'm not mass producing, but I am buying and selling much as I would if I bought real estate and turned it for a profit.

I think I’ll go to Mexico and give the people there a show
I think I’ll speak my language too, just like illegals over here do
I think I’ll steal and cheat and lie, and leave the Mexicans wondering why
They pay for me to have a kid, while I work for the contractor with the lowest bid
I’ll take the jobs that they don’t want, I’ll invite an uncle and an aunt

A question was posed about convicted killer Richard Ramirez (the Night Stalker), and the fact he has been on death row 20 years.

Some of the answers puzzled me. For or against, if the sentence is death, should it not be carried out? Capital Punishment was originally designed as a deterrent to crime - how is 20 years (as in this case) of free room and board, clothing, etc a deterrent?

What I want to know is - why are you for or against the death penalty. Lengthy answers encouraged - this is not a one sentence question.

I constantly see liberals posting tirades against all Republicans based on statements by Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh. There is no question that these people are partisan and spin for the Republicans, and while they do have influence in the debate, they in no way represent the whole of thinking in the Republican Party. When I see Republicans posting regarding statements it is usually, but not always, in response to actions or statements of politicians. You don't see them saying did you hear what Al Franken or Alan Combes said on his show? In those rare instances when they do, the liberal answer is "change the channel if you don't like it". Some content from these shows may indeed be offensive based on your viewpoint, but what about free speech? and Do liberals not know how to change the channel?

Disclaimers: I am not a Republican. I am an Independent. I do not listen to Hannity or Limbaugh as a general rule and wouldn't base my views on their opinions if I did.

What say you?
