I know there has got to be all kinds of organizations that work with soldiers stationed far away from home during the holidays. I'd like to know what I can do. I would be honored to be a "Secret Santa" for anyone serving in Iraq or Afghanistan to a little one (or two) here in the Buffalo, New York area.

Perhaps we can put something together and make this a special holiday season for many people.

Anyone interested let me know. Anyone willing to be a Secret Santa in your area pay attention too.

Thanks for the responses so far... I already do donate cash, send packages and we host two different websites so that soldiers can communicate directly and share photos with each other. This time I would like to do something different..

What I really would like to do is help a serviceman/woman make it a special *surprise* holiday for someone back here. Preferrably close to where I live. Give a present or presents to special someone (or two) for the serviceman/woman by "proxy". *lol* I sure hope stating it that way made sense.

Sorry... typo above. The Websites are for soldiers and their families and friends to share communications and photo's and such.

It is the least we can do... we owe them so much.

Sincerely...
Tammy

Thank you for supporting our troops. Especially during the holidays. It means more than you'll ever know to the men and women overseas.

I've listed several source links that you can browse. They all accept donations for our military. Some have links to agencies and such that accept donations of all sorts. Please, just be careful who you donate to. Even during a time like this, there are scams out there. However, all the links I provided are ones that even those of us in the military use.

God bless you and thanks again!!

i have a website also for the military men and women servingin iraq and afganistan. its called operation caring- its www.tiptopwebsite.com/makenna, i have a message board, i was thinking about christmas also. troops r requesting phone cards so they can call home to family on the holidays. few other ideas r in the works. i'm working on a float for area christmas parades and getting soldiers to ride on the float. a way of saying thank you and getting more people involved in the process. my website is i'm trying to get more involved in sending lettters of encourement to our soldiers, and sending care packages to them. they deserve our respect for risking their lives for our freedom, this is my way of saying thank you.

God bless you. It means so much for our troops to know we think of them every day.
Without them, we wouldn't be here.
