I wonder if anyone could possibly get me out of the turmoil that I seem to be in.

I'd recently got the job in the bank & as per their next procedure of checking anyone's eligibility to work within the country; they needed my P45 along with my birth certificate or the passport. Now, after trying in vain finding my birth certificate, I couldn't locate it & hence had been using my passport instead for the purpose.

I've sent my passport to this bank by post only yesterday & by the time they check it & send it back it could get to me by next week or so.

Problem now is, this bank job would start from mid November, while in the mean time, rather than sitting at home getting bored, I've been offered a temporary job lasting ONLY 2 weeks, which I rather fancied doing. However, the agency would need to see my passport legally, to ensure the fact that I'm eligible to work.

I know this one is tough because the knee-jerk answer is BOTH, but which of these fools is more misleading, and slices and dices the facts more than the other one?

I'm actually leaning towards O'Reilly, but that's probably because I've heard more from him lately.

Is anyone really stunned that Bush is finally understanding he can't win in Iraq? His arrogance is superceded only by his ignorance. The Republican party is a joke. Our future looks bleak if we have to rely on these bozos to lead us.Our economy is good?Really? Gee,I thought the largest ever deficit might taint that claim a bit.Never mind.Repugs don't want to talk about that, either.Actually, they are running out of claims to fame. Not much left in the tank,Dubya.Your regime is about as inept as it gets. Not to mention your approval rating. Wow,what a difference a brain makes.

For my 2005 taxes I filed Head of Household with HR block. I'm married, but my husband isn't a U.S. resident and doesn't have a soc. sec. #. So the HRBlock rep told me to file under Head of Household to avoid having to put his info. I'm looking and the IRS website now and their definition of Head of Household is "Head of Household Generally, you may claim head of household filing status on your tax return only if you are unmarried and pay more than 50% of the costs of keeping up a home for yourself and your dependent(s) or other qualifying individuals. " I ended up owing about $3000 in the end. Would I have still owed that much if I had filed married joint/separate? If so isn't HR Block responsible for the error?

Bush acknowledges U.S. concern on Iraq.

WASHINGTON - In a somber, pre-election review of a long and brutal war, President Bush conceded Wednesday that the United States is taking heavy casualties in Iraq and said, "I know many Americans are not satisfied with the situation" there. I know the USA military is losing like we did in Vietnam.

"I'm not satisfied either," he said at a speech and question and answer session at the White House 13 days before midterm elections.

Despite conceding painful losses, Bush said victory was essential in Iraq as part of the broader war on terror.

"We're not winning and we will not win at this pace.

Bush said that as those fighting American and Iraqi forces change their strategies, the United States is also adjusting its military tactics.

"Americans have no intention of taking sides because we can't win anyways. We just hope it doesn't end up like Vietnam. Let's pray for the men in Iraq because they are having a hard time.

Increased drug trafficking constitutes another reason we must control our borders immediately. No matter how the government of Mexico resists, the Drug Enforcement Agency says as much as $25 billion in drug money crosses the U.S.-Mexico border each year. And that doesn't even count the money made from middleman and end-user transactions in the drug trade. In fact, more cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and marijuana enter the United States from Mexico than from any other point

How does this country drive home this message? By endorsing a barbaric and wholely illogical capital punishment policy. In short, we punish people who kill by killing them. This, of course, turns us into people who kill.

We are a nation of killers, and we don't seem to care. And while we are on the subject, why is killing one person called "murder," but killing thousands of people is acceptable and called "foreign policy?"

Killing is unacceptable. Or is it?

My wife has a waiver approved for her back in 2000 when she was married to someone else; she's been divorce since and I petitioned for her and got the i-130 approved but now she has to leave and wait for her visa in her country (Ecuador). Is the 1-601 valid? Can she come back? Will she have to wait ten years because she never left the country after being deported in 1995? The i-601 was approved 'cause she has a US born daughter.
