'melouofs' - sigh. That's exactly what we republicans scream about. You checked 'if the election was held today . .. blah blah blah. Understand the difference between House, Senate and Presidential elections. Bush is not running. Therefore(I can't believe I'm explaining this) national all encompassing polls have NO meaning. You must look at individual races. OH my God. What has become of our youth and our country? Sorry for losing patience, but please learn from this experience.

Ok 'melouofs' The best way for me to help is for you to change the way you get your information. This story is three days old and growing. The surge is also growing. And yes I do listen to Fox. But I always check with CNN. Mostly because I falsely believed those lying bastards for years before I found out that they were lying. And nobody told me that. I think you and others can plainly see that Fox leans right. But they do tell the whole story. CNN, however, cleverly crafts their stories to give the illusion that they are impartial. There's no illusion with Fox. there's NEVER been a time that I found out more on a story by watching CNN. I'm not good with 'links'. Nor do I believe in 'internet' news. But, I will give you this. A former Democratic Political adviser, Dick Morris, and several others have ALL expounded on the 'winds of change'.

I, as a Democrat, would say that the Democrats failed to capitalize on an opportunity through poor strategy.

I doubt the Dems will pick up the Senate, but the House is theirs to lose. Better than paying attention to polls, I'd guide you to the Intrade website. If you really believe that the Reps will hold onto the seats, there is big money to be made for you there. As they say, "Put your money where your mind is"

To the Republicans who answered, did you miss the bit where he asked Democrats? Or did you just need to get another meaningless insult in?

If the Democrats do not win, I will be sad for the state of my country. I will be incredulous that my fellow countrymen can look at the state of affairs in our government and find it acceptable. I have not heard the polls you are referring to, but will look into that, and pray that they are wrong, and that people come to their senses. We deserve better than the current state of affairs.

Bottles--Will you please cite your poll results. I've been looking on various news outlets' websites, and I do not see what you claim. I just want to see the questions they asked, the results, and who conducted the poll. Thank you.

I just checked Foxnews polling which asked if the election was to be held today, for which party would you vote. 50% said Democrats and 41% said Republicans. Also, according to them, the President's approval rating fell 2% from last month, and the rate of disapproval of Congress overall between all likely voters was over 60%. Again, please cite your source.

Bottles,

First, Thank you for replying to me, but I am not a child, I am 37 years old, and have been a registed and participating voter for nearly 20 years. Again, I will request you offer your sources for your claims, as I cannot locate any information to support what you are saying. In the races in my home state of Pennsylvania, the Democrats are not losing ground, and I do not find evidence of that in any poll reported in the national media. I checked FoxNews, because although I discount nearly everything they say, I thought you had perhaps gotten your information from them. I cannot find evidence to back up what you say, and instead of offering me a lecture, I wish you had only cited your sources as I had so politely requested. I will again make the request. Please cite the source of the poll, the results of said poll, and any other pertinent information. Thank you once again. You know, your question asked respondents to look at the polls themselves, I am attempting to do just that, and further requesting your assistance. Please legitimize your statement with a factual reply.

Why is it republicans reject polling when the data is against then yet embrace polling when they think it makes them look good?

I don't think the democrats will win the house AND the senate. I'll settle for one out of two.

If Republicans have to cheat and lie and put down others for gain...soon it will all come to an end. Anyone addicted to always settling something by means of war...should be put to rest someday soon.

If they don't win, they will cry that they were cheated. If they win they will cry that they were cheated & should have won by more.
