Are you also against fertility clinics? Couples who are unable to conceive go to fertility clinics to find out what the problem is. Oftentimes, the woman has ova removed to be fertilized in vitro, these embryos are then stored frozen in large quantities and some are reimplanted into the woman's uterus. If the in vitro fertilization was successful the rest of the stored embryos are oftentimes discarded. Are you opposed to this discarding of frozen embryos? If your answer is yes wouldn't it make sense to use the otherwise discarded embryos for stem cell research?

Thoughful answers only please.

IMHO, it takes away from "One person - one vote." For example, if I'm the only Repubican in a state full of Democrats, all of my state's electoral college votes go to the Democrat candidate - my vote doesn't count. If I want my vote to count, I would have to move to a majority Republican state.

And "why" do we use this system to only elect the prez and v-prez? Is it because they're the only two nationally-elected offices?

It's such an archaic system and, again IMHO, should be disgarded and replaced by election through popular vote. Should it be replaced or retained?

I recently related to an answers forum that I was a decendent of Abe Lincoln, Hernan Cortez, and my grandfather fought with Pancho Villa. I am proud of that. I then recieved hatemail. I was called unAmerican.
My question is in response to what the hatemail stated.
If I am unAmerican, what kind of "American" would call Abe Lincoln, who was one of if not THE greatest man in American history a homosexual? And even if he was, (which it is clear at least in my history books, he was not) does that cheapen his contributions to our country, or lessen his accomplishments?
How can someone who claims to be a true "American" (mouthbreather77) actually make that statement and expect me to change the fact that I am proud to be related to him? What does it matter so much to him? Is it just Xenophobic, homophobic hate? Why should I not be proud of my heritage and history, regardless from whom and where I came from?
I would like educated answers only please.
Thank you.

There are millions of kids out there who desperately need good homes. If a same-sex couple is willing and able to provide a good, stable environment for a child who needs it, what's so bad about that?

The Bush administration has now set a 12-18 months timetable for Iraq security forces to get their act together. For the past 3 years Bush has said that it is wrong to set a timetable because it benefits terrorist planning. This couldn’t be a cheap political trick, could it?

I am very interested in joining the NYPD to start off my career as a police officer. My plan is to work there for a year or two (maybe more?) and then use that valuable experience and apply with departments in New Jersey. I am not interested in living in NY long term but I will for a few years. Can anyone help me with any possible advice, information, etc? THANKS!!!

Look at the world as it is today. I mean... look at what you consider "the world", meaning the U.S. Are we really all that well? Do we today have less terrorist hating us than we had five years ago? Do we have less debt? Do we have better health care? Do we have better schools than at the beginning of his reign?

Well knowing that you will come up with a flurry of excuses in order to protect your idol, i would like you to be truthful at least once and show us that you are thinking human beings.

The question you read before you clicked here isn't the real question. The real question is...well, I'll get to that. Be patient.
Many people (from both sides of the political spectrum) have stated that as soon as the other side stops stereotyping them, then they'll stop stereotyping those who disagree with them.
Here's the real question:
Since that's NEVER going to happen, why is it so hard for people to understand that it starts with THEM?
Each Republican, every Democrat, all conservatives, and each liberal NEED to just stop. It starts with YOU, yes, YOU!
YOU (and I, of course) need to rise above it and just STOP. Be better than that. I know you all can be.
PEOPLE are bad, not Democrats, not Republicans.
When will we understand it?
