I am very interested in joining the NYPD to start off my career as a police officer. My plan is to work there for a year or two (maybe more?) and then use that valuable experience and apply with departments in New Jersey. I am not interested in living in NY long term but I will for a few years. Can anyone help me with any possible advice, information, etc? THANKS!!!

You will have to check the rules for NYPD most places expect you to live in the city that you work. or within a certain mile radius of it. You should be able to call the pd and ask there city clerk for that info. GOOD LUCK and be carefull out there!

Hey if that doesn't work out for you, you could always join the Marines!

Whatever you do don't say this in your interview. They probably won't hire you. The plan is to tell them what they want to hear.
