The question you read before you clicked here isn't the real question. The real question is...well, I'll get to that. Be patient.
Many people (from both sides of the political spectrum) have stated that as soon as the other side stops stereotyping them, then they'll stop stereotyping those who disagree with them.
Here's the real question:
Since that's NEVER going to happen, why is it so hard for people to understand that it starts with THEM?
Each Republican, every Democrat, all conservatives, and each liberal NEED to just stop. It starts with YOU, yes, YOU!
YOU (and I, of course) need to rise above it and just STOP. Be better than that. I know you all can be.
PEOPLE are bad, not Democrats, not Republicans.
When will we understand it?

Democrat and Republican are just two ways to look at our unique American political system. What most people do not understand is that in our early days, before the war of 1812, there were 2 parties, the Federalists and the Democratic Republicans. Yes, thats right, they were the same party. The Federalists were destroyed because of political pressure during the war of 1812 and the Wigs grew out of them, only to fizzle away, leaving America with a temporary and very interesting situation, only one party. Thats when there was slight dissent within the Democratic Republicans, and they split. The thing is, its just two ways of viewing the same system. Sure, there are differences, but the fact of the matter is that they are far more similar within the entire political spectrum the world's governments must entertain. The problem is scandals, propeganda, political adds attacking people on personal levels and the like are always going to prevent the uneducated masses from seeing politics like they truly are. Good question, I hope my meager answer helped others see what me and you are trying to get across.

I just moved to a new state. All the conservatives I've met here have all the characteristics you say they don't always have, on your original list, except for the bombing of abortion clinics (which has never truly been part of the stereotype anyway). Coincidence? Was my sample too small? No, the sample is almost a hundred people!

The liberal stereotypes on your original list are obviously false and demagogic.

That's really the difference between the two parties, liberals are for truth, justice and liberty for all. Conservatives use lies and deception to maintain their grip on maldistributed power, wealth and liberty.

The conservative ethic is summed up in P.T. Barnum's saying, "There is a sucker born every minute". Conservatives are just crooked salesmen taking from those suckers. That's what they believe is the American way!

Liberals caution, buyer beware!

Your question is more of a rant. Democrats and Republicans will never agree. It's just a fact of human nature.

People understand that it's just that we can't change each others minds without a healthy debate, every one on here has made up their minds already, so we're having fun insulting each other.{can't do it in public}
