George R. R. Martin said,

When I was a kid, we always felt free and superior watching World War II movies, where those evil Nazis were forever stopping the heroes and demanding to see "their papers." That would never happen to US, we knew. We were Americans. We did not have to carry "papers." Yet now there's talk of a national ID card, and the driver's license has become almost that by default. A driver's license was intended to prove that you were licensed to operate an automobile, yet now all sorts of people demand to see it for all sorts of things. At the bank, at the grocery store, in the airport, in a thousand other places, you have people refusing to allow you to do your business unless you first show your "papers." We have become the very thing that we once despised.

is he wrong? does america still stand for freedom?

If North Korea did in fact successfully test a nuclear bomb, what steps do you think that the United States and the international community should take?

These polls ( DO your own research ) Show democrats with a big lead over republicans. I am not against republicans just their policies.

But Ive notice alot of desparation in the republican Party. They cant promote their ideas because they are too busy covering up the latest Child Predator Scandal in the congress.

I hope whoever wins whether republican or democrat realize that A different direction is needed. What we are doing now isnt working , it wouldnt hurt to try something new. Best of success to both democrats and republicans .

A lot of the posts and so forth seem to validate this view . Americans see war death and suffering as if it were a footbal game.

The news you have the mentality that seems glorified is one of muderous blood thirsty tyrants who enjoy war .

It seems the Presidents go around the world hoping to get into a fight -

Some seemingly most in the US appear to want this - they see it as being tough - most others around the globe see it as the sign of a brute animal with no redeeming quality of human worth ...

So why is it it seems so many Americans appear to think and act in this barbaric animalistic fashion - Or is it just the few - the stupid the retarted or otherwise socially unaceptable that just happen to have to much of a voice in the media and so forth .

Or is this view of a rabid dog on the loose acurate of the majority of Americans ?
