You have not seen a video or picture since the US attacked his supposed camps in Afghanistan.
All you have are poor quality audiotapes that are authenticated by the CIA (and we all really trust them now that the head of the agency is a GWB appointee).

Lets just say, he could have been killed 4 years ago and nobody could prove anything one way or another.

But its really weird for a charismatic leader not to appear on a tape to inspire his troops. Even GWB appeared in uniform, helmet under arm, getting off a helicopter to show the war was won.

Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf has said that Osama Bin Laden is still alive and in hiding. Furthermore, Dubai-based Al Arabiya television on Tuesday quoted a Taliban official as saying al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was alive and in good health. Finally, President Jacques Chirac and Saudi officials have said that information contained in a leaked intelligence document published in the newspaper "L'est Republicain" raising the possibility that Osama bin Laden may have died of typhoid in Pakistan last month is “in no way whatsoever confirmed.”

Everybody was looking for Osama in the Waziristan region of Pakistan (in northwest at the Pakistan/Afghanistan border). I think that Osama was and still is in Qom, Iran -- same place as Iran's Supreme's Leader Sayyid Ali Khamenei.

Remember Osama wants to bridge the gap between Sunni and Shia? The US has some control over the Musharraf government in Pakistan but not over Iran. That makes Iran the safest place for Osama.

Qom and Mashad have important Muslim shrines so they are the safest cities in Iran for Osama. The Wali al Asr was hidden at Masjid Jamkaran in Qom. It would be the perfect place for Osama.

Even if the US or its allies take military action against the underground nuclear research facility at Natanz, the heavy water nuclear facility at Arak and the nuclear power plant at Bushehr, but no one will touch the holy shrines in Qom and Mashad.

Iran's President Ahmadinejad is a mahdaviat (believer in Mahdi) he spent $17 million to renovate the Jamkaran masjid in Qom including widening the streets leading to it. So, at least he and some others in the government including the Supreme Leader Sayyid Ali Khamenei believe that the Mahdi will be showing up pretty soon.

According to some Sunni Muslims, Osama bin Laden is Al-Mahdi. Wouldn't it be interesting if Osama were hiding in the Jamkaran masjid like Imam Mahdi did? Can you imagine if OBL could unite the Sunni and Shi'ah?

Nobody really knows.
He might be living in a cave in the Warizistan province of Pakistan.
Or he might be Kashmir.
It's also possible that he is dead.

Cynics have suggested that the US government keeps saying he is alive to remind the nation that he is public enemy #1.

But there are reports that the CIA and military's special ops teams that were hunting him have been withdrawn and reassigned to other tasks.

At this point, it's really anybody's guess.

No new video footage or pictures of Bin Laden have been seen for years. If he is dead, we are not aware of it. He could be alive, but in hiding.

Most likely. But he could be terminally ill. There were reports on that.
What I don't get is...how do people know he is terminally ill and yet they don't know where he is? Who told them he is terminally ill?
