Intelligent.

Seriously, the biggest problem with this country is the polarization of ideology along political party lines. I consider myself a republican but I don't support the christian right, I am pro-choice, I favor reforms in national healthcare and regulation of insurance companies, I don't care who someone loves and wants to marry, I am a fiscal conservative and a hawk when it comes to national defense and our need to fight our enemies overseas. I am republican because I don't agree with the liberal left in about 80% of arenas but if the "right" democrat runs for office I would vote for them.

The infighting of political parties will be the ruin of our country. Its right to support some ideas along the middle ground, both left and right. Each has good policy and bad policy.

I was never a Liberal, but once upon a time a Democrat, and a proud one.It wasn't until Liberals took that party over that I switched sides.Joe Lieberman was the last true Democrat standing, and look what the bastards did to him.Today's moderate Republicans are yesterdays Democrats...

"A dumbass" is the absolute best answer anyone could give to this question, but I'll throw in my two cents anyway.

You're conservative. It doesn't matter what you used to be. You're conservative now.
