Letter I wrote to the Daily Mail newspaper today.
am 51 years of age British born and suffering with chronic pain due to osteoarthritis of both hips and the middle of my spine. I was also born with rotational scoliosis. I am unable to work due to my condition. The only benefit I am currently entitled to is £16.50 a week DLA (Disability Living Allowance) because my husband works. My husband is on the lower end of the income scale but this stops me from qualifying for income based Jobseekers. I do not qualify for contribution based jobseekers or Incapacity Benefit because I have not paid enough into the system. I also do not qualify reduced dental and eye testing, free prescription charges, council tax benefit or concessionary travel around the city of Peterborough where I live. I am in urgent need of dental treatment and I have had since July a new prescription for varifocal glasses which I cannot afford to get made up due to the cost. I am being denied basic healthcare.

In over 3 years of US fighting in Iraq & Afganhistan there are as many terrorists in those countries as before 9/11. The US military has allowed a pychopath leader in N. Korea to obtain nuclear weapons that can easily be given to Al Qaeda and Iran, part of the axis of evil, will soon have nuclear weapons. What the heck our we paying these guys to do other than get shot at?

As I understand matters the Pakistan government through its top nuclear scientists sold nuclear equipment to NK that allowed the NK to develop and test its warhead.

This equipment was flown to NK aboard a Pakistani C47.

Republicans have aligned with the Evangical Christian right. If their 'born-again christian' philosophy is carried into the Supreme Court (which is the goal of the far right wing) we can look forward to a shift in our basic freedom - that being FREEDOM of CHOICE. We are already living with PROHIBITION - 'vice laws' enacted by those who need to tell the rest of us how and what we can or can't do with OUR OWN BODY.
If the Supreme Court swings to the right (by way of appointment ) we can see a challange to Roe Vs. Wade, restrictions on stem cell research, gay rights, etc. More 'prohibitions' mean more trouble. The 'black market' is thriving as it is along with all it's crime and corruption. I do not want to see us go backwards with our 'personal' freedom of choice, and i'm tired of seeing our tax dollars go down the drain just to enforce a moral standard that never has worked, is not working, and never will work. Right Wing - I, and my body, belong to ME.

The government (central and local) is intent upon placing bugs on wheelie bins to measure the amount of rubbish deposited per household. Then a charge is to be made in addition to an already exhorbitant council tax. Is this just another by-the-back-door tax or really, as espoused, an attempt for us all to become more eco-friendly?

Religion in America infuses politics to a degree not found in most other industrialized nations of the West. The label godless, and especially godless liberal, are epithets. The truth is that there is nothing about being a "godless liberal" or having a secular democracy which is incompatible with the basic political values of America: individual rights, religious liberty, and personal autonomy. So what is the confusion?

WE SEE IT.
YOU have it shoved in our faces on TV and in the movies.
WHY CAN'T WE SAY WE DON'T LIKE IT?
It won't stop you from DOING it but I will not sit by and give you the FREE PASS TO IMMORALITY you want...

Yes - God will have to JUDGE you - not ME - and I thank him for that!

Have they deluded you by equating your patriotism with that of Nazis?

Have they emasculated you by telling you that "giving in" is preferable to "standing up?"

Where are the people of strong moral character who defend the weak? Where are the heroes?

Where is the nation I grew up with?

They've been replaced with people who think its okay to call 1/2 the population "stupid" because they voted for someone else.

They've been replaced with people who don't protest against the current administration- but march AGAINST AMERICA.

In many ways political dissent is like Chemotherapy, a healthy amount will destroy the cancer that is killing the body, but too much will kill the body by itself. And today, the balance is off.

Don't hate me because I'm proud of my country. Don't hate me because I'm proud to be an American. Don't hate me because I have a flag hanging in my yard, because I'm a Veteran, because I'm an AMERICAN.

I want the heroes back.

Agree/Disagree?

They do, or at least they like to keep minorities in welfare so they can make sure they get votes. You give them free handouts and they'll expect them, they'll never make anything of themselves. That's why minorities have the highest criminal histories, high school dropouts and teen pregnancies. They know they can always get on welfare and the Democrats like that because it gets them a vote.

I'm going to start school in january at USC and i've worked since I was 16. Unlike most minorites who started their criminal history as young as 12. Democrats need to be outvoted or we'll have a country that resembles Africa or Mexico.
