They are former allies. But China has realized the economies of reality. NK is not a true communist state, and neither is China anymore, so they are not sharing a common ideology anymore.

Now China is trading partners with the US, Japan, Europe and the rest of the world. China's largest trading partners, Japan and the US are being threatened by NK. Despite the travesties committed by the Japanese on the Chinese citizens during WWII the Chinese cannot allow anything to happen to its largest trading partners.

China is on the verge of opening its currency and taking the artificial caps off the yuan. When they do China will no longer be perceived as a 3rd world country and will be the world's military and economic superpower. They do not want this wingnut ruining their opportunity to catch the world off guard.

China might even get some political mileage out of this is they are able to use their might to back Kim Jong "Mentally" il down. It could signal the reappearance as China as the dominant force in Asia. (A prelude to China being the dominant force in the world).

They have the capability, but considering Red China isn't inclined to liberate its own people any time soon, I doubt they would wage a war to liberate North Korea. If the wage any kind of war, it would be to "liberate" North Korea to the Red Chinese way of life.

You might have something there because China has already warned North Korea as of this morning on the
nuclear test that they did and has taken it to the UN
security council.

In all honesty, it is the only solution that makes any sense. Anyone else touches North Korea and it will be hell on earth.

Unlike the US I don't think they are blood thirsty animals that think of war as fun and games .

That and if they do it will destabilise the region a lot more than you think and you can garentee they will take back their lost Province of Taiwan well they are at it. My guess the Americans depite a treaty would look the other way - so you may get your way - just remember it's only the Americans who enjoy war and killing no one else thinks of it as entertainment

Was war ever a great thing? I can remember that one of the revolving excuses by the Bush junta was that we are in Iraq to liberate the people there. Do you think they feel liberated?

China has never liberated anybody. It enslaves, like it did to Tibet. Like it did to Hong Kong. Typical imperialist communist government.
