I agree, lets break it down even further whites don't mind calling other races out of there names because they feel like it is okay, It makes them feel like that they are perfect in some ways but the real reason why they don't like it is because now they are getting the same reaction that most of the Mexicans, Chinese, African Americans and other nationalities get, and believe me they don't like to be put in the same category as everyone else. Anytime that someone gets mad because something was done to them that only makes them look guilty as hell because that is what they have been doing and they don't like being called those names. I say turn around is fair game don't you think?

Well i have never been called a gringo, bolillos or palido. To me they all sound like Hispanic words, They obviously aren't english words, Because they are not censored on yahoo answers. Doesn't that make you think.
I have never called a Mexican a wet back etc.
So don't categorize people.

I don't call any one race based names, its an ignorant practice that denotes lack of communication skills to me.
I am "white" and what someone chooses to call me is their problem and not mine.Words have no power over me,you can not wound me with hate filled words.
I am not ashamed nor overly proud of being "white"
I didn't have any impute in my race or color.
I am who and what I am .I am a human being
with all the strengths and
frailty of being human.
I do not use words of hate or supposed superiority to
make my case against illegal immigration.I use facts and reality.
Calling me a gringo or worse doesn't cause me pain or remorse,or shame. They don't anger me,they have no effect on me whatsoever.Just like people using race based words against Mexicans, they are ignorant and take away from any validity your answer or question contain.
Truth and facts have power.Race based words have no power over me because I refuse to enable the racists,in his anger and hate, from either side of the argument.
Each of us is free to do as we wish..I am truly free in my choice not to respond to or engage in those labels.

Yes it is fair and it is just as wrong to call them gringos as it is to call Mexicans wetbacks. Racist remarks are always bad and should not be used by either group.

I've never heard of bolillo, but that's a good one. Gringo isn't pejorative in Baja Norte, it just separates us from the locals. Nobody uses racist names for Mexicans here. We just try to get along. You seem to want to stir up the racist pot.

And I think you are inciteful. Anyone is going to be offended when they are called a name that is used to sum up an entire race, religion, ethnicity, whatever.
Regardless of who is using a term that has become derogatory, it is offensive to those whom it is being used against.
You are showing *your* racist nature by even asking this question. Not all whites use those terms or see other cultures/ethnicities in that way; not all blacks use those terms or see other cultures/ethnicities in that way; nor do all hispanics use those terms or see other cultures/ethnicities in that way.
People like you, however, who are inciteful and try to stir the pot are the very reason that there are so many difficulties in bridging ethnic differences. So long as anyone continues in the mindset you have exhibited by your question and so long as people cannot see one another as just people, we can expect matters to continue just as they are.
No one is better than another. And, to be very frank with you, i'm just about fed up with the current latino movement to force the shoe of bigotry upon the white foot. If you don't like living with whites, you have options. Feel free to exercise them.

Nice "group think" there. I do no call Mexicans derogatory names. Then again the girl in the office next to mine calls me whitey all the time. Cracks me up. Grow up.

I don't care what an illegal immigrant calls me. His opinions are meaningless to me. All I think concerning him is that he should get out. I am not advocating shooting illegals or saying illegals don't have feelings, so don't b*tch at me about that or tell me I'm heartless. I simply believe in the carrying out of justice.
For the record, I have never called someone a beaner, ****, round-eye, yellow, red, etc.
For some reason Yahoo won't let me write s p i c.
