The answer to your question is normally it takes almost a year an a half to get your conditional green card which is good for two years. Then after the two year period you will have another interview and then if it is deemed successful you will get a green card good for ten years. For further details on the procedures for a green card go to www.uscis.gov This is the government site for immigration issues. It really should answer most or all of your questions about immigration.

Pffft... Marriage is sacred & should be done for the right reasons, The fact you are so interstested in just getting your greencard, makes me think you are doing it for the wrong reasons.
But your life, up to you.

But around 12 months

If you are referring to someone who arrived in the US via a fiancee visa, then I can tell you it took us about 4 months for her change of status to be approved and the green card to arrive. But I also think it has to do with country of origin and the completeness of the application package. More details available if you wanna email me.

with the way the united states is holding their security after these terrorist attacks, its taking up to 6 years. It is much more incredibly difficult to receive your green card than it was 5 years ago. So, quite awhile.

Never if they find out that you got married only because you wanted a greencard.

my wife got denied because i dont make enough money... which typifies this country's treatment of the poor... id say forget the greencard and move to your fiance's homeland
