To that end I would like to put out a possible alternative. Incumbents may not campaign. No commercials, no road trips. An incumbent's record will speak for a job well or poorly done.

Opposing candidates may not include any reference about the incumbent or other candidates in their platforms or commercial messages, unless the content of that message has been approved by the person it is about.

The possible result: Candidates are forced to restrict their campaigns to the issues and incumbents will not spend their time, that we pay for, away from the job we elected them to do.

I think debates along the way, between the incumbents and candidates would serve two purposes: allow the incumbents to voice themselves, and with precious few opportunities to do so, the issues, exclusively and to the public's benefit, would be addressed.

The public might even want to pay closer attention. Maybe even care again.

Imagine a campagin based on the issues alone?

What do you think?

Is this just the most biased News network right now or what? I had to laugh at this clip with the Senator bashing them for showing their colors. It seems like some of the big media companies are really starting to lean one way or the other. What ever happened to fair journalism? Did the owners of these companies just decide to throw that out the window?

9/11. My thinking the matter is if you wage war on Terrorist then you have to expect them to fight us with Terrorist tactics. You see we were not official at war before 9/11 and when we got hit everyone wanted to help us. Now we can not use that card because what did we think was going to happen if we are at war with Terrorist. I'm not saying we should not fight them but waging war means you think you can win, how do we win if there is no one to surrender, and who will come to our aid if we get hit again?

Being the holy, wholesome, moral bunch who try to censor Hollywood to keep your kids being corrupted by the “over sexed” images, why did you not protest when the media was running play by play explicit details of Bill Clinton’s sex-capades? Was that considered family entertainment?

If Ken Starr wanted to become an Adult fiction writer…why didn’t he just get a job at Penthouse or Playboy?

I got to looking and I have paid out over $9,000 in income tax and health/dental insurance premiums this year so far. That makes me sick. Why does the government allow people to sit on their *** all day and get free health insurance and welfare? That is sooo not right. It makes me want to throw up thinking I am paying for people to sit on their asses and not do **** when I work over 40 hours most weeks to end up barely making anything when it is all said and done. Does anyone think this makes sense? Why are people allowed to do this? For instance a person I know is on WIC and welfare because she isn't working right now? I can't get on that if I wanted to b/c I make too much money BECAUSE I WORK! Arrrgg! What do you think?

I have to say I am seriously embarassed to say I am Irish after our Taoiseach gave a cringing interview regarding the payments he received in the 1990s. He says he had no bank account in his name at the time. What a load of crap. He received political donations which he tried to pass off as "a loan from friends". He later appointed these friends to well paid positions. He also tried to divert all his attention toward his family problems. The CAB should now investigate him for his behaviour & he should resign. What an idiot he is.
