Most Americans didn't vote for him. Many Americans do not vote. In 2004 Bush got 62,000,000 votes out of an American population of nearly 300,000,000. That means roughly 20% of Americans voted for him.

The 2004 election (popular vote) was so close so it isn't fair to say "most Americans".

And besides, the choices were pretty dismal.
I only voted against Bush as a form of protest.

I hope to God that we voters are offered some intelligent, compassionate candidates in 2008.

Given the nature of our voting system, it came down to the vote in Ohio. There have been many investigations as to the unreliability of the electonic voting machines used there, and views that Bush actually lost the State.

I voted for him because I thought he had balls, I am not seeing enough of those balls lately but I remain optimistic. As far as the other candidate went the Dems got screwed. Kerry was the best they had? Even if I was willing to vote for baby killers, democrats, I would not have voted for Kerry. To this day I do not even know who he was. He had no real identity he was simply a reflection of the polls he monitored.

Because he was better than the alternative. A better question might be: despite all of the Bush screw ups and bad publicity his first term, why were Democrats still unable to field a candidate likable enough to win?

Better than the alternative. Why do the Dems keep trying to put draft dodgers and left wing radicals in as their front runners?

Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that most Americans are losing to the rest of the world in education.
