GACK, that is a difficult question, the neocons have things so messed up. I know they need to get rid of the top brass in the military and re-think the entire approach to that region, like throwing more into the infrastructure, and intelligence, maybe get some advice on cultural issues. It seems they had no understanding of the underlying cultural issues on deciding on this catastrophic path.
Line item veto, cut the porkbarrel spending. Get some ethics back into Congress (neither side has a clean slate on this issue).
Concentrate on important issues rather than hot-button media driven topics like gay marriage, abortion, Terry Schiavo, etc.
Separate church and state once again.

Don't put the cart before the horse. If the Democrats win big in this mid term election then the first two things that they will do is admit defeat in Iraq and pull the troops out and the second thing is that they will try to impeach the president.

Begin the process of closing down our involvement in Iraq by turning it over to the overtaxed UN peacekeepers. Then they need to get to the bottom of all the allegations concerning Bush. Slap his writs if necessary, tell him to play nice, keep his nose clean, and behave until his term is up. As you can see I am still not a wild fan of impeachment. I think it would hurt the nation.
