We will never reach an absolute consensus on how many illegals are in the US because (1) The whole point of being an illegal is to avoid being counted, making number keeping extremely difficult and prone to large margins of error (2) New illegals keep coming in daily.
Yes, they are putting a major strain on healthcare, but they are far from the only debilitating strain on healthcare in this country. Increasing cost of medicine, over medication, lack of good health practices, and the increasing number of elderly are also huge drains on the system.

Well, as they're illegal, ie did not go through any official process to get into the country (for the most part), knowing the actual number is not possible. Estimates are between 6 and 20 million.
As far as the cost, again, it is hard to measure, but recently Parkland Hospital in Dallas, TX sent a bill to the government of Mexico demanding payment in million for treatment of undocumented mexican nationals treated in hospital and its clinics in just one month.

you need to ask a profesional who have all the right numbers to this . but you can bet that it impact every american in the usa .it's a shame that the illegals can get health care when 45% or ,more of american can't afford it .
