I'm not kidding: George W. Bush wants to ban somatic cell nuclear transfer research, which would create medically precious stem cells by moving patients' own skin cells into the nucleii of donated eggs. This is not the cloning of babies we're talking about -- no Frankenbabies would be created in the process. It's simply the creation of stem cell lines tailored to each individual's genetic makeup, which could be used to help people walk again, recover from strokes, battle cancer, Parkinson's disease and lead healthier lives in ways we can't even yet imagine. But Bush will have none of that. With this policy, any researcher, health care provider or patient using such a treatment would have to fork over up to a million dollars and spend up to ten years in jail. How petty and backward-minded?

What is so important that people speed and pass in school zones. Is being late for work, or your nail appointement, or Pilates class worth potentially killing a school child with your car....What is wrong with people?

My husband gained sole custody of his 3 children from a previous marriage. He is in the military and recently got orders to move us to Japan, In April. Is there anything that protects military members in custody disputes to keep their children, if a move was not mentioned in the child custody action. The judge is well aware that my husband is in the military and a move was going to happen eventually. And when should we tell the mother? Please keep in mind we are dealing with someone who gave up her children for a man and has never had her children's best interest in her mind. Please do not tell me to go to the JAG office, they do not deal with civil matters such as divorce. Any ideas on how to keep my family together? Please know I am not trying to keep the children from their mother either, they just belong with us, so they are not in danger or abused. Has anyone else gone though this or know someone who has, what was the outcome.

Pre-requisite to answering this question is a brief synopsis of your own personal experiences with drug use, including alcohol, especially marijuana use, if applicable.

I mean,,,, anything from "I have smoked a few joints at parties" to "never touched any of the stuff" to "i get plowed and swerve people off the roads driving home after NASCAR events" to "I dropped LSD with Timothy Leary in the 1960's" to "I AM Timothy Leary" to whatever degree of anything

I think it should be legalized and I have had quite an extensive array of experimentation with a variety of things in my lifetime - and I still smoke pot. I quit drinking 4 years ago.

I went on a ride along, and though it was a month ago, I would like to thank the officer, and perhaps let his superviser know how well it went, and how much I appreciated the experience. I'm not sure who I should address the letter(s) to, or if it is even appropriate to send one. I appreciate responses from ppl in law enforcement..Thank you!

The government has limited funds when it comes to drug use. They put more money into treatment, though, than prevention. I believe this is the money factor. The reovery industry makes tons of money and creates tons of jobs. It does not, however, solve the drug problem. It waits for it to happen and then addresses it. Smoking was drastically curbed through education, so why isn't drug use?

It was SO cute to see George pretend he was a Navy pilot in his bulky little flight suit, and stand out on the aircraft barrier with his "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED" banner a few years ago! His imagination knows no bounds!

What do you think he'll dress up as next? Will he still say the mission's accomplished, or something else exciting?

Is it because it is a form of sedative, calm your nerves?
Is it because it has an addictive side effects?
Is it because it may cause health problems?

For a minute there I thought I was talking about alcohol and cigarettes.

Those who are doing every crooked things to ruin the country,
rape the society, devide the people, increase unemployment,
price rise, and doing whatever they want for themselves,
and protect the corrupt MP's who were shown on TV asking and
taking bribes from MPLAD funds and raising questions in
Parliament.

Liberals need: public transportation, organic farms, universal health care, art museums, gay rights, environmental laws, renewable energy, universities accessable to all, fair tax bases, retirement security, and really good gourmet restaurants

NeoCons need: No taxes, a super large military, Wal-Mart, coorporate farms, high wages for CEO's, lots of oil, a great highway system, many churches, TV evangelistis, chain restaurants, and Hummers.

Let's face it: we are very different. Let's divorce and each take our half of the land mass and move on. Who gets what?

Half the time Bush can't even read his cue cards without stumbling over the big words. This indicates an unfamiliarity with such words, and is a symptom of his lack of intellectual engagement. How can we afford to have such a disengaged man in the seat of the presidency for two more years?

Is it just me, or does it seem that all of the extreme left, liberal, cry baby, pacifist, rhetoric spewing ignorant conspiracy nut jobs all seem to find their way to the political forums on this site?

And, no, I am not a Republican. I agree and disagree with a lot of Bush's different policies - but the only policies I see coming from the democrats must be secret, because the only alternative they seem to present is not "vote for me," but, instead, " vote against them!"

If you answer with your Bush bashing and coverup nonsense, you'll just prove my point.

Do these people really believe that their hatred and negativity will promote their chances to regain the Whitehouse in 2008??
