Liberals need: public transportation, organic farms, universal health care, art museums, gay rights, environmental laws, renewable energy, universities accessable to all, fair tax bases, retirement security, and really good gourmet restaurants

NeoCons need: No taxes, a super large military, Wal-Mart, coorporate farms, high wages for CEO's, lots of oil, a great highway system, many churches, TV evangelistis, chain restaurants, and Hummers.

Let's face it: we are very different. Let's divorce and each take our half of the land mass and move on. Who gets what?

The Greater Northeast from Minnesota to Maine and down to Maryland is Blue America.

The Deep South plus the Mountain and Prairie States is the New Confederacy.

The West Coast should also be independent.

Hawaii should have its independence restored, and Alaska can vote on whether to be independent or part of Canada.

i wouldn't according to political affiliation. my criteria would be the following:-

1) does the city have more than 60 different nationalities?
2) does it have abundant art galleries, museums and theaters?
3) do public services play msgs in english and spanish?
4) cities that have the least amount of sport bars.
5) cities where int.tennis tournaments take place (a plus)
6) whites are not the majority.
7) on the ocean.
8) has intellectuals, academics, cosmopolitans & mostly liberlas.
9) abundant lounges, modern bars, jazz joints.
9) where same sex marrige is legal.
10) AND, where people can tell the difference between being an arab and an iranian. :)

So, i would group NYC, miami, L.A, San.f and maybe D.C & Boston together and make it one state...or even one country.

Since when do liberals want a fair tax? THATS FUNNY. Without taxing the wealthiest of people to a greater extent to pay for all of your really great social programs, how can you afford them? What's fair about that?

I really enjoyed reading your fair and unbiased question.

How about if the Conservatives loosen their strings and the liberals tighten them. This country is not about divisions is about union. I mean United States, indivisible with liberty and justice for all. Does that gives you a tip.

So liberals only want the nicer things in life and "neocons" don't? You already live in the land of "make believe" so you should be happy to stay there in ignorant bliss.

Lincoln is spinning in his grave. With decent leadership, this country can come together. We need another FDR to unite us.

"How should we divide up the U.S. geographically?"

Smart/stupid might be the way to go. In the smart section would be Noam Chomsky, Marvin Minsky, Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak etc etc - in the stupid section would be the Republicans.
