I wanted to find out if the Judge grants a Dismiss to a charge does that mean the person is guilty? Will it show on your record? Do you have to mention this to employers? There was no conviction.

I mean, I hear a lot of you saying the NY Times was treasonous for releasing information about the administrations questionable wire-tapping program. Do you also feel that our vice-president was treasonous for leaking her name?

The reason why I ask is because you hear all these politicians saying that if we had a guest worker program, Mexicans could work for a few years then take their money back to Mexico. PROBLEM IS: if the majority of Mexican laborers are already planting roots here in the U.S., what makes our politicians think that under a new Guest Worker Program those same Mexicans would return home. Yes there are some advantages because most of the illegal residents will be able to come out of the shadows and have their wages taxed properly so that they can contribute to social services. And what happens when it's time for those one or two million "guest workers" to go back home? This part of the proposed immigration bill doesn't seem like it would work and before we know it we'll be back to square one.

"The phrase "cheap labor" is a myth, a farce, and a lie. There is no such thing as "cheap labor." Take, for example, an illegal Mexican who sneaks in here with his wife and five children. He takes a job for five or six dollars an hour. At that wage with six dependents he pays no income tax, yet at the end of the year gets an "earned income credit" of up to $3,200 free. He qualifies for Section 8 housing and subsidized rent, food stamps, and free (no deductible, no co-pay) health care. His children get free breakfasts and lunches at school, and require bi-lingual teachers and books that taxpayers provide. He doesn't have to worry about car insurance, life insurance, or homeowners insurance. Taxpayers provide Spanish language signs, bulletins, and printed material. He cannot be fired, harassed, or sued. He and his family receive the equivalent of $20 to $30 an hour in benefits, while working Americans are lucky to have $5 or $6 an hour left after paying their bills and his, and paying for increased crime, graffiti, and trash cleanup. Cheap labor? I don't think so!!

Let me start by saying, i agree that illegals should go through the correct process if they want to be in the US. Now, let's say that illegal immigration was not an issue, there were no illegals in the US, who would we blame crime, disease, poverty, unemployment and federal aid abuse on?

Could this be delayed because of everything going on in the media, and the new laws they want to keep passing on immigration? He is from Guatemalla but his fauther was german so he has a "white" last name but looks totally hispanic could this be the problem. I am just so worried he will get his citizen ship rejected and have to go back in 2011. That is not a good country to live in, and hes going to school working so hard to make a good life. Is there anything I can do, put in a letter of recomendation? write to my congressman?

VICTOR ROMERO: It’s a miracle.

GREG PALAST: How did the miracle occur?

VICTOR ROMERO: How did the miracle occur? I don't know.

GREG PALAST: On a computer printout, Dr. Romero showed how the official tallies matched the exit polls, with challenger Lopez Obrador ahead by 2% all night. That is, until the very end, when several precincts came in for the ruling party by 10-to-1, and then 100-to-1, putting their candidate Felipe Calderon over the top, literally in the last minutes. The doctor found that statistically improbable.

VICTOR ROMERO: We reached the point I said, “It’s over.” But then, from 71% ‘til the very end, there was not a single moment in which the difference from one report to the next became bigger.

GREG PALAST: So it didn't change at all. Just was perfect.

VICTOR ROMERO: Perfect, perfect. And so we just couldn't believe it. I mean, it fell -- with 5% to go, it fell one full point.

GREG PALAST: So then, what happened?

VICTOR ROMERO: Another miracle. Statistically, it's a second miracle. But now it is --

GREG PALAST: Well, are you a religious man?

VICTOR ROMERO: I’m not a religious man.

GREG PALAST: So you don't believe in miracles?

VICTOR ROMERO: No, but other people do, so, you know. They say that it works even if you don’t believe in them, so.

GREG PALAST: The results may not seem so miraculous if you take a look at these voter sheets. This is from a district in Guanajuato, which shows that Calderon picked up 192 votes, but Obrador, the challenger, got only 12. And here’s how this miraculous total can be explained. ...

Anybody reading answers in here can tell there are a lot of ignorant, stupid, and imature posts. Should we petition Yahoo to change the rules? Make it so you have to pass a test of some sort before you are allowed to post? If you fail, then you only get read access. Just a thought to clean this place up.
