The US will not risk direct involvement. It's a political hot potato in this country. However , that being said , covert assistance is not out of the question . The US will be there if nothing else to Reign in Israel. Cultural differences leave us ill equipped to deal with Iran and Syria. In other words what i call the "Custer Dilemma". We should really let our allies in the region deal with them as they are more equipped both culturally and politically to handle this. Frankly, the current administration has scored enough political points. It's time to rejoin and become a mature responsible member of the UN. We definitely have the military might. We do not however have the Military right. Afghanistan was right on the money after 9/11. Iraq, was just political show and sadly, is the manifestation of politicians egos. Anything else is just irresponsible. I do have family serving over there for my country . I strongly support the troops who must follow their orders

If you are a history buff, you will find out that there were 3 countries attacked Israel simultaneously, back in the 70's... they didn't need any help then,, don't think they will now... they defeated those armies more than once.. one of those wars was call the 7 day war.

U.S. press coverage of Israeli attacks on the Palestinian Authority and Palestinian towns on the West Bank often treat the U.S. government as either an innocent bystander or an honest broker in the current conflict, often without giving a full sense of the importance of the United States role as a supplier of arms, aid, and military technology to Israel. they don't need to send troops they already sent guns and bombs and fighter jets and helicopters and torture equipment such as electro stun batons [cattle prods]

Excuse? Bush did not need an "Excuse" to start war with Iraq, the Democrats voted overwhelmingly to support declaration of war. Kerry says he was deceived, but he was on the intelligence comity, and his attendance was horrible (too many bot ox appointments). Many Liberals think if an Ally of the U.S. goes to war we should turn our backs and wait to see who wins. The Democrats voted in support of Bush but changed their minds when they found out it was not going to be easy.

if they go to full scale war the US will help Isreal in some way or another. the sitution is changing so fast its hard to tell. hopefully we will not send our own troops to Isreal cause that would be a mess....we will probably send some money or some bombs i guess.
