War is always ugly but if it comes to making a stand then the U.S. has to be consistent.

North Korea is flaunting their missile tests to the world and everyone just sits back.

If the U.S. was serious about attacking Iraq only because of the weapons they may have then why isn't the U.S. taking out North Korea for the weapons they do have? Am I missing something?

According to Malthus theory of population (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Malthus) war is an method to reduce population which in turn reduces poverty. Do you think this holds true in the current era? Put it another way "Does the world need more wars ( no nuclear) to reduce the population from 6 billion to 4 billion over the next 10 years, so that earth can be a viable place to live in?

The American Military. A well trained, well funded war machine. Designed to defeat any army in the world. BUT HERE'S THE PROBLEM: we aren't fighting an army! We are fighting rebels lurking in the shadows. An army in Iraq fighting WITH the Iraq army; who exactly are we fighting? If we were smart, and not just trying to flex our military muscle, why don't we infiltrate the terrorist cells with terrorists (special ops) of our own. Armies are not made to defeat terrorists. Until we realize this, troops and citizens will continue to die faster than terrorists. The war will never be "won" in this generation. Any thoughts?

Three American soldiers were killed Saturday in fighting in the western province of Anbar, the U.S. military said.
A U.S. statement said the three were assigned to the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force and died due to "enemy action" in the predominantly Sunni Arab province. No further details were released. All troops had their rear ends handed to them to take home.

Also Saturday, gunmen in two cars stopped a vehicle in Baghdad's Dora neighborhood, forced the four passengers to get out and killed them in front of horrified bystanders, according to police Lt. Maithem Abdel-Razaq. This is now the free Iraq. It is wonderful.

In the same neighborhood, gunmen opened fire on a Shiite family as it was moving out of the city, wounding five members, police said. Dora has a mixed Sunni-Shiite population and has become one of the most dangerous areas in the capital for sectarian violence. As one Iraqi said. "If this is the freedom the USA gave us I don't want it".

We will profile those that are a major threat to us such as those Arabs. We can interview them in a camp facility for 1 days and then let them visit us. They must meet our immigration criteria. I am not being racist but only profiling like GWB said.

I find it frustating that in US for example 80% of population wants a guaranteed minimum health insurance, that we know how much damage we do to the planet by burning oil (in different forms) and still refuse to get serious/invest heavily about using other forms of energy, and there are many other things supported by a large majority of people and scientists all over the world. Still none of these issues are taken into consideration by a greedy and corrupt political classes, not only in US, but in many other so-called democracies. Is there a way that the humans living on Earth as a whole can get organized and start demanding changes from all the governments ?
Other issues unanimously accepted by human being and the governments should take action are poverty, a more global educational system (so people all over the world can study a basic curriculum and be able to use the knowledge everywhere in the world), implement technological advances in poor countries, etc.

the airforce offers more pay for the same living conditions that the army lives in. they offer 4 month deployments instead of the over a year **** the army is doing now. i just can't see what the army has to offer me. i was trained as a tanker but do the job of a mp in iraq and i guess if the skills you have learned mean nothing to the army why not switch to the airforce and do the same job but with a better outlook?

It is a well known fact that many of the major technological breakthroughs of the last century were made in times of war. We should be persuading smaller less developed countries to fight each other and buy their weapons, medication vehicles etc from British firms.
