Iraqis are worse off now than they were under Saddam Hussein.
They at least knew the rules & had security.
Now, they have neither.

Well, it's not so sweet in the US either. Interest rates have gone up 17 times since Bush pulled this stunt. Somebody has to pay for it. The free oil money isn't living up to his dreams. And his big plan is to "stay the course". I'll bet a few of his buddies are really going to the bank though. Do the math, 1.8 million barrels of free oil a day X $75 a barrel = $135 million a day unaccounted for. Sure, probably half goes to buy more bullets to keep the bloody quagmire distraction going, but where's the rest go? It certainly isn't going to the Iraqi people, they can't even refrigerate food with their 3 or 4 hours a day of electricty. Where are the Iraqi interviews on TV? How come they aren't on answers here? When is the US going to stop trespassing?

Do you think this is any different from when Saddam was in power? It is not - not at all. The only difference is that when Saddam was in power, CNN, Fox news and every other major western news network was not allowed to see what was really going on. It may not have been IEDs that did the killing, but mass murders were committed by the government. Remember Saddam gassing the Kurds? How many families - how many innocent women and children died in that event? Would you really feel better about yourself and this nation if we continued to stand by and do nothing when our innocent brothers and sisters of humanity were slaughtered at the whim of a dictator who knows nothing of the value of life? I whole heartedly support our action in Iraq; the individuals who are attacking these civilians are using these terror actions to turn the hearts of the people against the US. Before you go and formulate your bias against what hundreds of thousands of your nation’s best have sacrificed for - ask a service member who has been there to see hope and prosperity start to bud. Ask them how many times when interacting directly with the native population, they were thanked and praised. Things are not great in Iraq yet, but they are getting better. After WWII, when Germany and Japan surrendered, was there instant peace, love and happiness for all? No - of course not! It takes time... If we stay the course - and continue to support our troops in Iraq - we will one day have a great ally nation in Iraq, and the people there will prosper and be happy. It will happen, if we help it happen.

The Iraqi people ARE much better now.
If they are too stupid to "get" that... oh well.
Some things can't be taught... they have to be learned.
BTW... There are 10 good stories to every 1 bad story reported.
The biased press will "run with" anything that makes the "sore loser" in them... feel good. Doesn't matter that it hurts America's image... doesn't matter if it costs more lives, doesn't matter that they are blocking the "greater good"...
All that maters is they can say "See... YOUR GUY failed".
I bet the author of this question is a DEMOCRAT.
My opinion is, that for SURE... he's either: Been taken by the biased reporting or Just plain biased.
The reality is a very positive result, so far, with a great cost.
At least HONOR that.

I watched Jim Lerhers information record very last evening and the guy reported it turned right into a Civil conflict between the Sunni's and the Shites. the military in ordinary words have the fairway zone secure. So the authorities does not advise some thing to them 3 a million/2 years later.

You don't understand. This is NORMAL behavior in the region, it was just done whenever people gained enough backbone to speak out, then they were arrested and killed. They live under a constant threat of death in almost every Islamic country.
You want this. You want the dictatorship that brings the peace of death to all who disagree. You want the death of free speech to the Iraqi people and all Islamic dominated peoples. You want the political assassinations. You side with the enemy.
Your behavior is seditious. My family escaped Islam in the 1950's. Thank goodness you weren't around to stop them and deliver them to their deaths.
Bless the U.S.A. for giving them a choice despite the people you mention above who are trying to take that choice away.
You are siding with those who want NO CHOICES. They want THEIR way, not democracy.
You are an enemy to democracy. You have chosen your side. There will be thousands of stories for you to demonstrate your sedition, and you will only pick the ones that fit your narrow, traitorous view.
We see you. We'll answer you. Every time.

Under Saddam the Iraqi people lived in constant fear that Saddam's sons would kidnap and rape their daughters (fact). Under Saddam hundreds of thousands have been killed and buried in mass graves (fact).
The problem in Iraq is the insurgents coming from other Arab nations. The leaders of those other countries do not want democracy in that region for fear it will eventually lead to them losing their power.
Freedom is hard, painful work, but in the end it is the only thing that will bring peace and civil liberties to the people of that region and the world. Once people have freedom they will have access to education, free press, and most important freedom of religion.

Believe me...if I were you and they called that freedom then I wouldn't want it either. The job for invading Iraq was to oust Saddam from power. How it became all out war I have no idea. I think the President of the US had his own agenda in that answer believing that what he and Congress feels represents the US itself. I have no quarrel with those people nor anyone for that matter. I'll put it to you this way No American whether it be military or civilian, can go to another country and tell me they are fighting for my freedom and make me believe it. While Congress has our soldier tryin to take care of another countries business else where... the US itself is falling apart. Now lets be realistic here. I don't need anyone to fight for my freedom nor does any one else who actually believes that crap. When another country tries to invade US soil in the event of trying to take over, then I will be fighting for my own freedom.

I am certainly concerned for the future of Iraqi children. I couldn't imagine having to raise a child in that sort of situation.
I don't know if they are better off or not; but, I know we should help get them out of the hole we put them into.
Out of touch politicians making decisions that effect more people than they realize, that is what Iraq boils down to. Congress failed everyone miserably.
