Who are more responsible for demise of Communism? USA or the people of those countries?

Both. We could outspend them! That;s what ended the cold war. Not Ronald Reagan! He always was an actor, and a B one at that!!

While the USA managed to trick the USSR into an arms race that eventually bankrupted the latter, that isn't the reason Communism fell. That had much more to do with inherent contradicitons between the ideology of Marxist-Leninism and the practice. There came a point at which even the aparatchiks of the CPSU couldn't pretend that the system would ever fulfill the basic needs of the people.

Are you talking about the USSR? We were not responsible for the fall of communism, the people of that country were. And the people of East Germany were responsible for the Berlin Wall coming down. As much as some Americans like to think it was our doing, It wasn't. The people held an election, for the first time a real election, in Russia and elected a leader who was willing to listen to the people of his country. I find it amazing that we even try to take credit for that!!! Sometimes we are such an arrogant country. We think the world revolves around us. Maybe that's why we have so many people around the world who hate us!!

The countrys themselves, or rather the governments of these countrys. They spread themselves to thin, something had to change. It is happining to the U.S. right now as we have spread ourselves into other countrys and it is a drain on the national budget when in time will have to be paid. The interest alone on these deficits would fund every social program that we could possible think of. We need to get more responsible for our debt or we will go the way of Russia and other empires.
