The USA everytime.
They look to the future rather than living in the past.

I prefer the USA for its founding principles and the values it tries to represent the unfortunate truth is that the USA does not represent these values And with each day appears to be "The Evil Empire"
against which the forces of good (The EU??) must struggle
The EU is a horrifying Bureaucracy which is largely ineffective to anyone outside of it but suffocating to anyone in it.
On balance as a Brit I would choose The Eu we have dealt with our european cousins pretty effectively for a long time and Europe is the same now as it was 200 years ago. The USA is changing and really needs to wake up to what it has become As a German Psychologist once Said (I cant spell his name ) Those who Hunt monsters should be careful lest they find they are the monster.

Under the EU, Europe is becoming a corrupt dictatorship.
Unelected officials are now making the rules in Brussels. Individual states laws are automatically overruled by EU legislation.
That the EU's own auditors have refused to sign their accounts for many years tells its own story.
The USA has too limited choice for President due to their political parties but lower down their elected officials are much more answerable to the electorate. Individual states have real power over their regions.
So USA for me.

USA just because what the US does is its business whereas the EU is just urgh i duno i just hate it.
I hate that Britain is involved, i hate the idea of us joining the euro, i hate the idea of a European constitution and a European common defence force! Its just stupid. There is too much getting involved in different nations economies and politics...if the EU gets its way all European countries will be exactly the same and completely under the thumb! We need a bit of variety, its the quirks of the European countries that gives them their appeal...and laws that may make perfect sense in one country will make absolutely no sense for another
i think the UK should avoid further integration!
EU= urgh, so USA wins

Being British, I would like to see the UK more influential in both the EU and the US. However, as long as Bush is in power, I think only the former is truly possible.
Having said that, I prefer the orignal values or at least the original idea that the US was founded on - the values and ideas that the EU is trying to found itself on scare me if I'm honest.

The UK is doing a fine balancing act between the USA and the EU; and that's a policy the UK should stick with.
Stay in the middle. Choose both, and neither. Choose according to the UK's best interests.

Both have positives and negatives.
From a UK perspective I would go with the USA because simply put, the EU (namely the French and Germans) bring out a lot of policy that favours them over the UK to the point of disadvantaging the UK.
I don't trust them.

The EU as it is not intent on Killing innocent civilians!
Was Bono from America?
Was Bob Geldof from America?
Was Mother Theresa from America?
Was the baby Jesus from America?
What has the USA given the world besides obesity, fear and weapons of mass destruction! What a sad and pathetic nation!
