War is always ugly but if it comes to making a stand then the U.S. has to be consistent.

North Korea is flaunting their missile tests to the world and everyone just sits back.

If the U.S. was serious about attacking Iraq only because of the weapons they may have then why isn't the U.S. taking out North Korea for the weapons they do have? Am I missing something?

The real purpose here is intent. North Korea has nuclear weapons, yet we stand at peace. If Saddam Hussien had nuclear weapons, there would be a huge crater where Isreal stands, and we would all be wearing masks right now and learning about nuclear radiation.

North Korea uses threats to ask for help. They do this because their leader refuses to seem 'weak' by asking an apponent for help.

Don't forget that North Korea has listened to the U.N. in the past. Iraq's former Regime had ignored the U.N. 14 different times, even going as far as to play mind games with them during the Clinton Administration when the U.N. had sent an Envoy to Disarm them.

In short, North Korea will listen to reason if we wait long enough. But trusting Iraqs former regime with WMDS is like trusting a child molester at a play ground.

I think right now the US has their hands full with Iraq, Afganistan, and the war on terror here in the United States as well as the illigal alien problem. But make no mistake, when the time does come to address the North Korean issue, the U.S. will step up to the plate. Don't mess with the U.S.

Because Bush assumed iraq had weapons so he attacked, also Iraq didn't have a steady government, an army, or any kind of military technology to be a threat, on the other hand, N. Korea will rock us in a heart beat, and the fat cats and corrupt politicians won't benenfit financially if we attack N. Korea.

Everyone else in the region has no qualms about testing missiles. If china were to test one tomorrow you would never hear a word about it. The US is constantly developing new missile technology and I fail to hear the international outrage.

Every nation has a right to defend itself.

The US doesn't want a war with N Korea. Study your history and find out what happened last time the US tried to subdue that nation. It was not a cake walk.

North Korea will probably first bomb South Korea. My uncle advised me that on account that North Korea are all communists, they dont even pay their protection force! all they do is help them with nutrition, thats how undesirable commies are! for this reason this may create havoc in that area of the international. Iran isn't any comic tale both. Their probably going to start up beef with Israel quickly, and the U. S. can do not have the different determination yet to attempt to regulate it . And this may prob be the reason behind WW3. (positive desire im incorrect!)

1) deal with the fact that we did not invade Iraq for WMD - that was just the first excuse of many to justify that illegal and immoral activity.
2) The US is going bankrupt fighting one "Viet Nam", they can't afford to fight on two fronts.
3) The US is *afraid* to consider fighinh NK, because that would involve a war with China.
4) The US does not have the resources to fight two wars at a time. There aren't enough soldier, and that would result in a draft.
5) It might cause a civil war at home.
6) The US already had it's *** handed to it in NK once in the early 1950s.

Iraq was attacked for reasons other than possession of WOMD. If that was truly American policy we would have attacked Israel years ago. We went into Iraq because of a son's desire to outdo his father. I fear that it is as simple as that. North Korea is a tough nut. China has also went to war with us once for putting American forces in North Korea. No one in the military has lost sight of that.

The US and UN waited more than 10 years before the US did something about Iraq. Why you want to rush into Korea?

Actually you just like stirring the s**t here, and you seem to have succeeded with those folks who hang out on the web bashing Bush all day instead of doing something constructive with their lives. Congratulations!

First of all we are still trying to negotiate with N. Korea. so is the rest of the world. Saddam was given the same opportunities for years and refused to comply with the rest of the world.

The WMD in Iraq we went in for were chemical weapons....... serin gas, mustard gas etc.............

N Korea does not have these chemical weapons and they do not yet have a nuclear capability.............. so they are not yet considered to be as much of a threat.

It's all this "nuclear" hype. nobody wants to be the one to push the button. What ever happened to the good ol' Atom Bomb? If we laid one of those on Kim Jong Il's doorstep the problem would be solved without effecting our nearby allies, chemically speaking. You know, fly it in at night and in the morning blame it on a meteor or something. It managed to work wonders in bringing WWII to a rapid halt. While we're at it fly one into Afgan and Iraq as well. I think if something is worth doing, it's worth doing well.
