There is no way in the world the USA ( Marines, Army, Navy, Air force ) is going to beat the Insurgents. No way! Sure, we will fight for another 18 months to two years but after the next election the new President will pull the troops and run just like we did in Vietnam. Those insurgents will never back down and say "OK....You win! We like your puppet Government so now let's have a cup of coffee and be friends". No Way that is going to happen and you warmongers should know that. Yesterday the poor American Troops got a butt beating and tomorrow the troops will get a beating again. Do you agree the USA should be ashamed for getting us involved in a Vietnam type war again?

why do we have to play by any rules and is it rediculous that we have soldiers charged with crimes for killing civilians that yesterday or tomorrow will be trying to kill them.war should have no rules it is not civilized and we need to stop thinking it is .WE have the power to level entire blocks at a time and need to put the fear of our GOD in them to end the war.TELL everyone to let the government know we want an end to the rules. blast ANYTHING THAT MOVES TILL THERE IS PEACE. or accept we must have soldiers tortured and killed. No happy middle ground .

I am 18 and I live in Indiana. I was cited in Tennessee and have to return for a court date. I have never had any other run-ins with the police. The cop said I was probably looking at a stiff fine, but will I get probation too? And how much do you think the fine will be?

I have a general idea why the US is still in Iraq. But what seems odd to me is this: there didn't seem to be as much violence due to insurgents before we invaded in 2003. Now it's neverending. And there doesn't seem to be an end in sight. Everyone will say that that coalition forces can't just pull out now (even though Japan just did) because Iraq will fall to insurgent forces. I get this. I'm just wondering how we (the US) got into this mess in the first place. It seems we are fighting a war we cannot win, and our president still expects to win.

Numerous federal and local law enforcement agencies have bypassed subpoenas and warrants designed to protect civil liberties and gathered Americans' personal telephone records from private-sector data brokers.

These brokers, many of whom advertise aggressively on the Internet, have gotten into customer accounts online, tricked phone companies into revealing information and even acknowledged that their practices violate laws, according to documents gathered by congressional investigators and provided to The Associated Press.

The law enforcement agencies include offices in the Homeland Security Department and Justice Department — including the FBI and U.S. Marshal's Service — and municipal police departments in California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia and Utah. Experts believe hundreds of other departments frequently use such services.

I think it would be a good idea that our military come up with an injectable GPS chip. So if they are going to be taken captive they can inject it or swallow it. Then we could track them down. Any thoughts or opinions??

North Korea is getting ready to launch a balistic missile that can reach our shores (USA). Where do you think this is headed? And will Bush and cronies clamp down on China for aiding N. Korea in their efforts to make weapons?

I'm concerned because of our present war in Iraq, the growing tensions in Iran and, now, North Korea's missle testing that will hit California's shore.

Historians help me out! Should we be afraid?

Do you have any solutions? This is not a rhetorical or inflammatory question. I'm seriously interested in people's opinion. It seems that most of the violence is just a power struggle between this small group or that small group. And in most of the countries. And the people get caught in the middle. So how do you break this cycle? It's been going on for years and years, and there does not seem to be any resolution.

Anyone with even the smallest degree of compassion would agree that this is horrible and something needs to be done. I don't know what can be done. Maybe someone does.

Things like television have v-chips, music with explicit lyric markers, xxx rated is for a reason, I was just wondering if parents even keep an eye on their kids today. Oh, yes, you all pretty much work..how about now using aol, or msn for your kids on the computer, parental control you know. Educating your children about things is a must, Now everyone wants the government to monitor the computers, are you all serious. I feel like I am starting to live in a communist country, and the gestapo is putting alcoholics in prision like they did in Russia and I think they still do. You all seem like a bunch of control freaks these days because you have to go to work. Police yourselves and your own families....Grow UP!!! Wake up!!

I know there's a lot of smartass answers flying around, but I am truly curious for anyone who does support the Iraq war: why?

When the Bush team clearly stated there were WMDs and there were not, then he made a joke of it. Halliburton (Dick Cheney's ex-company) gets no-bid construction contracts to re-build what parts of Iraq Dick Cheney orders destroyed. When Cheney and Rumsfeld are part of the Project For a New American Century that states explicitly that oil should be controlled by the USA. When there is no proven link between Iraq and 9/11. When Cheney, Rumsfeld and Bush all did not participate (or did in a most peripheral way) in actual military service, yet still are gung-ho about war.

How can you support this war on any level, economic, moral, political, self-defensive, etc.?

I've made clear what I thnk, I would be very curious to hear what others think without a lot of smart-assery. Thanks and though we disagree, I wish peace upon you and your family.
