Do you have any solutions? This is not a rhetorical or inflammatory question. I'm seriously interested in people's opinion. It seems that most of the violence is just a power struggle between this small group or that small group. And in most of the countries. And the people get caught in the middle. So how do you break this cycle? It's been going on for years and years, and there does not seem to be any resolution.
Anyone with even the smallest degree of compassion would agree that this is horrible and something needs to be done. I don't know what can be done. Maybe someone does.

I think UNO should deploy troops in all trouble counties in Africa.
World Bank should keep an independent watch dog to investigate the money which is used for development of those countries.No financial help should be provided to military rulers.
Human Rights representatives should be present in all the countries and should report to media and UNO of all the violation.
Then I think the things will gradually improve.

I'm no expert, but I believe the problems mostly start because some people have and others have not. There is no development in most of Africa, which causes the people in power to control all the wealth and more importantly the food. If there were enough natural resources in an area of Africa, then other governments/business would pay for all the infrastructure to support extracting them. Look how much is being spent in Iraq. Money makes the world go round man.

Doesn't Bono know? He seems to know everything about how to make Africa a better place! He thinks we need to dump a lot of money into Africa - why not sell his vacation home and give that money to Africa? Oh, because he's a phony!! That's right!
In all honesty, I don't think you can isolate violence in the world to just Africa. There are horribly violent struggles going on in so many areas of the world, and they deserve attention, too. Also, I'm not for the US to meddle in the affairs of other countries. When that happens, puppet governments are created that really don't benefit anybody but the US. So sure it's sad that Africa has problems, but so does every other developed (and undeveloped) nation in the world.

Well, the ovious solution would be to create an island the size of Greenland and move all of the refugees there, but that would be impossible, since in our modern technology, we can't make land artifially.

Look at Darfur. Blacks killing Blacks. Africans killing Africans.
