"OR" Close to the worst President we have ever had. As most of you people know Mr Bush has low ratings and is going lower. Any idea how muh lower he can go?

If you base it on his approval rating, then yes. He has the worst approval rating of any President, including all war-time president's...

I don't think his approval can sink much below the 30% mark, that is when you hit core republican bedrock. Those 30% would probably still say he's doing a wonderful job even if we were paying $10 for a gallon of gas, we were in Iraq for 10 more years, unemployment sky-rocketed, minimum wage was never raised, only the wealthy could afford college education and millions of americans sank even further into poverty.

That is pretty much true for both sides, when you hit about the 30% mark, you are hitting the core of the party. Can't get much lower than that.

It's strange how the passage of time affect public opinion on something like this. Ten or 15 years from now someone will write a book on the Bush years. Somehow the book won't be quite the way we remember it today, and the slant of the book may do much to the favor or disfavor of the Bush image. I used to think Clinton was the worst president, until Bush came along, and then I started to wish Clinton was back again. My most worrisome nightmare is that with each successive president, they become worse, the public becomes more beaten down and tolerant and gawd it's scary to think of the future. We the people don't seem to really 'demand' high peformance of our leaders anymore. We just try to not look too close and hope for the best. Did I swerve from your original question? Today I think Bush is either the worst or a strong challenger for the position, but it won't surprise me at all if a future president (political demonination having nothing to do with it) upsets and replaces Bush as worst.

No, he will not. The main reason is not that he is doing as bad of a job as it appears, but the media twists a lot of what they find out
Here's what the media does:
-Its almost all democrats in the media who are determined to dislike him simply because he is republican
-most of the media have not been given all the facts just some
-most of the media choose not to report the facts that show him in a good light
-most of the media report the facts that create controversy, not the whole story
-the approval ratings are almost always voted upon by the media members
-when the public does get to vote on the approval ratings the question is very misleading, and its mostly the way lift field democrats

All in all he really has done a decent job, the media just paints most Presidents in a bad light. I just watch the major news channels for a good laugh, I've realized that 90% of the time they're wrong. And that I can find the whole story and develop an opinion on my own.

And FYI whenever a President has been in a war his approval rating has sucked b/c there are so many 'hug-a-tree, peace-loving" people out there.

You are thinking of Jimmy Carter as all time worst leader. Nice man that does good things but a terrible president. Bush is doing ok considering leading a country through 9/11 and the aftermath with liberals putting him down all the time.

Yes, he is all ready considered the worst president in history. I think his ratings will probably hit the teens before he is through. His stance on N. Korea, China and Iran is going to drive his ratings even further down. Since his press writer quit/resigned or whatever, he'll stick his little cowboy boot in his mouth and get us into a war on the other side of the world so we'll be stuck in the middle. Poor Canadian, bet they wished they could break off and move somewhere else.

Depends on how you define worst. He's had a very bad record economically, though not as bad as Hoover. He's had a high civillian bodycount, but nowhere near Nixon, who wiped out 600 000 innocent Cambodians in his bombing raids. He's had an extremely bad civil liberties record, and as far as quotable quotes, I'd say by far the worst.

Overall bad, probably in the worst 5, but Nixon has to take the cake for worst of all time, IMO.

EDIT: The watergate scandal (the tapes) involved Nixon having the Democrat offices bugged so he could win the election.

History will be kind to GWB. Americans are fickle and short sighted. Unfortunately, we require fast immediate results. Plus the major news we get is always slanted against GWB. But, thank God for the internet. Now the #1 source for our news. The major mainstream media is biased, left wing, misleading and full of half truths and lies. Fact, 85% of these so called journalists are democrats. How can they be fair and balanced? They slant every news story in their favor. Always! The internet is shining the light on these cockroaches.

George W. Bush will be distinguished as one our Best presidents ever. He will be in the short list of top 5 best pres. We will win the 'war on terror' and defeat the bad guys. Our victory in Iraq will change the middle east. Good always triumph's over evil. GWB will be heralded as a hero.

No, he is not the Worst President in history nor is he even close. I could not stand the sight of Bill Clinton, but even he is not close to being the worse President in history (just the lustiest). My vote would go to Richard Nixon or Gerald Ford or Lyndon Johnson. My vote for best President would be Ronald Reagan.

Are you crazy or stupid? Why do idiots like you still think that our government is run by one person? Did you miss government class or is your ignorance due to being to young for government class? What exactly are your political views, because I don't believe that you have any. I bet you are one of those who, sits around complaining and probably never even voted or know the electoral process. You definitely do know how our country's government functions.

If it is so bad for you here, LEAVE. You see, we live in a FREE Country due to our governments guidelines, If you acted like this in some countries you would be dead by now. Go back, read the constitution and have some gratitude for the life you have here.

I think Bush will be likely considered to be ONE of the worst, however, there are still many Bush fans. But I think he could be placed next to Nixon. I really don't know that much about Nixon because i wasn't around, but have seen movies and shows and something to do with some kind of tapes.....what were those about?
