I've learned how little time is required for a US president to completely screw up my country from top to bottom. I've learned how easy it is for a US president to transform a world (literally) of good will (immediately after 9/11) into a world of hostility, condemnation and contempt (today). I've learned that evil-minded people can defecate on our precious Constitution and tread all over our cherished rights and freedoms simply by virtue of being in power. I've learned that one pitiful excuse for a president + an incompetent ANP rubber-stamp congress = a budget surplus becoming the greatest deficit this nation has ever seen. I've learned that irrespective of the truth, the evidence and the will of the American people, a US president can declare war on a sovereign nation, causing the deaths of thousands (including over 2,500 US soldiers), the resurgence of terrorism and further overstretching our armed forces and national debt. I've learned that evil and stupid though I knew this president was, he and his criminal cronies are about on a par with hitler and his evil henchmen, which surpasses even my darkest fears when these devils first stole the office of the presidency in 2000. In short, I've learned a lot I wish I'd never have lived to see happen to my country. When does our long national nightmare finally end?

I've learned that the presidency can once again be returned to an office of integrity and leadership in very tough times after 8 years of being disgraced and made a mockery of.

That you can be a liar, cheat, sell-out and a "decider" to be president. That you can totally ignore the people your work for and take away anything that you think people don't need, i.e. privacy, social programs, grants for aids research. That a person can do pretty much what he wants to do if he's president, regardless of how much it hurts the country.

It's the rich that are keeping the social programs going, without their tax dollars there would not be welfare, food stamps, aid of any kind.

The president is a figure head, or scape goat if you will, for those who are truly in power. Democrat or Republican makes no difference, as those in power remain the same year after year.

I didn't know that an administration could mess things up so much in so little time. But the current one is a testament that Republicans are only concerned with one thing: Lining their pockets with taxpayer's money.

That you cannot please everyone. You are damned if you do and damned if you don't. No matter what a President does, he gets criticism and no matter what he does not do, he still gets criticism from the same people.
I also agree with lilbruno listed above me.
