She was not in her cage this morning! My other rat who was in the same cage with her is in there though. I really need some help on how to find her! I don't think she could have gotten out of my sisters room, the space under the door is to small. I have no idea where/how to look for her! Her name is Celsius, Female, Lives with another Female. I just woke up to find the cage door open a crack, just enough that she could have slipped out of. I've looked under the bed, dresser, Ect.Ect. I would really apriecieate your answers, but no stupid ones please!

I have a 2.5 year old chinese dwarf hamster. In the past few months she has what appears to be a blood blister. It appeared on one of her little toes, but has now spread and basically overtaken her whole leg, up to the thigh. I know she has to be in pain and it looks like it would just burst at any second. I doubt she can be saved, and I don't want to let her suffer, so I was wondering if vets did put them to sleep, and if so, is it cheap since theyre so small anyway??

Hello! I recently had a litter of rats (unplanned! I adopted a rat from a friend who got her from a local pet the day before and the rat was pregnant!). I am very attached to them all as they were handraised by yours truly. But, I know that as a struggling college student, I cannot afford to keep very many of the offspring. I am weaning the babies now and they are doing really well. There is one particular baby (out of the 15!) that I am very attached to and I was wondering if I could, after complete weaning and the mom has ceased lactating, house them together. Does anyone have experience with this kind of a situation? Thanks!

I recently adopted a baby rat who was in good health (hes currently 6wks old). He lived with another adult rat & 4 mice in pine PELLET (not shavings!) litter mixed w/ Yesterdays News (cat version) w/ carefresh paper ontop. Lately he's been sneezing quite often, I've looked at his nose and the stuff is clear. It goes away at times and his nose is fine and dry, then randomly gets sneezing fits. Its so weird. I have him now with some antibiotics that were orignally prescribed for my mouse and in Ultra Carefresh bedding. Anyone know what could be wrong? His breathing sounds fine, btw. No congestion or gurgling.

Well before my little brother was holding his hampster while i tried to take a picture, and i'm not sure if he applied too much pressure or what, but the hamster's eye seemed to have came out of the socked and then went back in. I was really freaked out and worried by this. The hamster seems okay now. But i can't stop thinking about what happened, has this ever happened to any other hamster owners before?

Ok. I have a Syrian female and my sister just got a male Syrian today. They look so much alike. They are so cute. I knew that we had to adopt him. Any who, he has his own place in her room. I did let the two greet and he sniffed her; she sniff him. The Syrian male hamster is bigger compared to her. I think he's a fat as s..(it's out of love), how can we help him lose wait?...I know taking him to the vet is imporant. We will do that soon. I always give my little one, (Albert) veggies; milk; fruit, of course her food too. So I give that same food to him?..Now, what is a don't in taking care of both of them?...I think it's cute when they get together.

Hi,

Today I noticed the end toe on my rabbit's foot was sticking out a little more than I think is normal. It felt kind of loose, if that is even the right way to describe it. Upon further observation the toe seems a little inflamed. However, I was touching a lot, and my rabbit did not once seem to be in any pain at all.

Should I wait it out for a little while to see if it gets better, or take some action by going to a vet?

Thanks for any input.

My hamster has had a boil on his left eyelid for quite some time, about 6 months, but nothing happened so i didnt think much. But overnight another boil popped up on his other eyelid, this time on the inside of the eyelid, so he cant close his eye properly and its a little watery. It sort of looks like a pink, round thing... is it a tumor? Anything i can do for it besides take it to a vet because i dont live anywhere near one? My hamster is 3 years old. Suggestions please?

I'm a single guy in my mid-twenties thinking about getting a guinea pig (I live in an apartment so I can't really have a dog or something). But I'm affraid people would look at me wierd because a guinea pig is kind of a kid thing and not something an adult has. So my question is to the women here...would you date a guy who had a guinea pig or would you be put off by that?

Hi.I have a female syrian hamster living in a small cage (crittertrail 2).I am worryed it is too small. This is a picture of a crittertrail 2 cage (not mine)http://www.petco.com/product/11499/Super-Pet-CritterTrail-Two.aspx . I heard it is too small. The only problem is I am from the U.S not U.K and I mistakenly looked at a website and it was U.K website. I didn't know that and I saw a cage. I thought it was $33, but it was U.K money so it's about $50! Where can I find a good cage that dosen't have alot of tubes and costs less then $40.
My poor hamster really needs this. She can almost fit in her tubes. I don't have alot of money to spend on a big cage, so I need a good cage.

Please don't give me things that are too expensive.

My rat sneezes but doesnt have any other issues. He seems to sneeze more when i hold him than when he is in his cage. He acts perfectly normal and eats/drinks like its his job. I held him up to my ear to listen to his breathing and i cant hear anything other than a heart beat and his teeth. Could it be his bedding? I am using aspen bedding and try to keep it clean. Any help would be wonderful.
