are there any quick ways to make a hamster wheel less squeeky so that they can still run in it at night and not make a lot of noise so i (and other people) can get some sleep?

LOL

My hamster is a lazy rascal and has never used his wheel in his life (he is 14 months old now!) so luckily that has never been a problem.

But for you it is a problem very easily solved you can use a little vegetable oil at the back of the wheel, this will stop it squeaking straight away. Also, all pet stores sell "silent" wheels. Im not sure if they live up to their name, but its also worth a try.

I have had this problem so many times!

What you need to do is take the metal or plastic rod that the wheel turns around, and rub some skin moisturiser onto it.

This stops the wheel rubbing and grinding around the rod!

At the AnySize Hamster Sportique The slogan is 'Big or small we fit em all!' You guys wanna roll around, then get the heck outside, and put those cushions back on the couch before I lambaste your head with em.

first of all...dont use wd40 or any other chemicals because they will hurt the hamster

you can use cooking oil...that is safe and it quits it from squeaking...and if you use a wire wheel..i would reccomend switching to a solid based plastic wheel. They are safer and usually quieter

Orthodontist wax.
Works like a charm

Pam cooking spray. It's non-toxic and lubes the wheel.

Cooking oil works well but you will need to reapply it every couple of days. I used it on my mice's wheel and the little buggers lick it off! Hehe!
WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T USE WD40, THIS IS TOXIC TO YOUR PET.

what i used to do was take it down so they couldn't use it and then put it back up in the morning lol, since my hamsters ran all day long. i just made them run only at the daytime.

If it is the metal one, I used to use vasaline on the wheel to keep it from squeeking

You could try using vegetable oil...or you could buy those super cages that look cool. That wheel comes free, no squeaks, plus it glows in the dark!
