She has a lot of hoarded food. Should I put her hoarded food back in the cage (in her favorite hoarding spot) or should I let her start from scratch with a new stash of food??

He's been sick for a few weeks. It started when i fed him some asparagus, and he got a lump on his behind. It went away. Then it came back. Then it went away again. After a week or so of coming and going, the lump stayed and did not disappear. It seemed stable for about 5 weeks. Quite recently, I found he had what looked like blood all over (sorry there's no polite way of saying this) his butt, but not so much on the lump. Despite him constantly cleaning himself, a week later and it's still there. I DO NOT believe this lump is a tumor. Please tell me what's wrong with him. I cannot afford to take him to the vet. If it helps, he is a longhaired teddybear hamster. ALL IDEAS ARE APPRECIATED. Is he a biohazard?

I've always been interested in rodents because they look cool and thought they'd be a nice addition to my room. I want something I can pet, isn't aggressive, and is easy to care for because I'll be a novice at it. Please give me everything you know on your choice. Thank you!

I brought in 3 rats for quarantine for a friend, and it turns out they had myco. They've been ALL over the house because I love putting them all over the place. The bed, the couch, climbing all over my clean towels, loose in the bathroom while I take a shower. You name it. So now I'm pretty sure my whole house has the bacteria floating around and I am going to be getting 2 new rats in just a couple of days from a local breeder, but I really do not have time to scrub down the walls and every corner of the house with a toothbrush.

Anyway, here's the question:

How long does it take for the disease to die off? I know humans can carry Myco, obviously not have it, but just transmit it. How long will it be before it wears off from me, and before it dies off in the house? Is there anything I can do to speed up the process? Something sure fire that does not involve burning it down or waiting one year?

Please, if you have any, I'd like to see sources!!

Thank you!!

I have a hamster with a large growth that has taken over one of her hind legs. She seems to be quite uncomfortable and just hides in her little house all the time. She is 2.5 year old chinese dwarf hamster. I don't usually take rodents to the vet, but if I took her, I'm thinking they'll probably euthanize her. I don't want this to happen, but it might ease her suffering. I'm not cruel and I care about this little hamster, which is why I'm asking the question. I'm just curious if anyone else has had this problem, or for some reason had to have a hamster put to sleep. Is it pricy? I just have no idea. Please help.

I'm only considering wheels that are large enough for a Syrian hamster and have solid, not wire bases and backs.

Which brand/model is the quietest?
Is it quieter as a stand-alone or snapped on to a wire cage?

Please only answer if you've tried a few different types of wheels.
