I just want to know how many my hamster should be eating in one day. He seems to eat to much. He eats like three a day I think. Is this too many? Hes still a baby. Like under 3 months I think.

#1. Does PetSmart sell only one kind guinea pig, or are the mix-breed piggies?

#2. WHY is it better to have a pair of guinea pigs instead of only one?

#3. What brand of food is the best (expense doesn't matter) for piggies?

#4. Does it cost much to get a pig spayed/nuetered?

Lots of people ask questions about rabbits and ferrets in the rodent section.
I am pretty sure it is because Answers from the pet section are pretty hazy for ferret/rabit questions.
But, is it, or do you think people sometimes misplace them?
What are Ferrets and rabbits any way?
Are they two seperate things? like , marsupial and something else ??
Just want to know these things.
Thanks

My daughter bought 6 mice (much to my dismay) 2-3 weeks ago. One ran away about a week after we got it (we learned that the cage allowed this). But recently, two mice have died. My daughter tells me that she feeds them daily, they have plenty of water, and she cleans their cage every other day. My daughter is heartbroken and thinks she is killing them. What's happening???
Also...
My husband bought her a large bag of pine for bedding (could this be the problem?).
At first the sick ones became lethargic (not running in their wheel), then in a couple of of hours they lay down (breathing hard) and they die soonafter.
Please help!

Do you think "The Donald" should get a copy of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights? Don't you just love it when the pampered ask a single question on Yahoo Answers, thus letting us know that they are in touch with we the turnip eaters? My kids are hungry, have no clothes, are sent to war, work in Walmart, no health care, no dental, out-sourced, no education, and I got some princess asking me for something to give on father's day when my father is overseas fighting to give Ivanka an answer to her question?! I'm laughing my a** off how we continue to grovel at the feet of the privledged! And, furthermore..., wait a minute..., I got the tax collector at the door..., no it's the sheriff..., it's Con Edison..., it's NAMBLA, no it's AIPAC, no it's a Homeless dude! It's okay! I gave him a tie and he said thank you! He just wanted it to hang himself with it! Whew! I thought I had problems!

My hamster, Jesse is almost 3 years old, and I think he’s dying. He limps when he walks, he shakes, his eyes are always cold, he never comes out, and he lays in dead-like positions. Can someone tell me what’s wrong with him and what can I do?

Everytime I put my hamster in his hamster ball he just sits there and cleans himself, and he budges a bit sometimes, so does that mean he doesn't understand how they work?

Four cattle died mysteriously in a feed lot. they were standing in "red" water, not bloody but, red.
It was one cow, then two then two more. They were moved into another feedlot. The "red" water wasn't considered at first, then cleaned up but, thought about later. An Ex-wife lives across he road, down a a bit. She's a little "goofy" with manic depressive that was never treated, she went down and never came up. She does strange things.
I believe she tossed arsenic into the feedlot where the cows were, turning the water red, quite possibly in "Rat poison" that's used on the brown wood rats in the area, everyone does it.

Could this be possible, would the water turn red, would it have a smell, maybe "nutty" or any help?

I bought him from Petco on June 12 last week.
How old are they when they sell them?

2007-06-16 13:25:20 · 7 answers · asked by Anonymous

The pet store says, take him out every day until he gets used to you, and other people on here say, if it runs away from you, let it be. When I pick him up i can not, and when I say I cant, I REALLY CANT get him to stop moving. People also say pet it and stuff, well I cant because he is running like crazy. How do i make him so he feels safe (I already tried treats). Its been a week, and it has been the same since day one, and I gave him plenty of time to get settled in his new cage, about a week until I tried picking him up. Will this ever change, or should I get one like my old one ( It would lay in your hand even on the first day) to replace this thing. I know i sound a bit mean, but this thing is a pest.

Please help. I bought 2 female guinea's 7 weeks ago, both aged 7 weeks & one of them (Nibbles) has started getting rather plump, i was holding her & felt a few movements so i took her to the vet & she is defo pregnant. The vet said she is quite advanced & must have got pregnant at about 5 weeks old. Poor little thing.
Im so scared something is gonna happen to her when she gives birth & want some advice from any guinea pig owners - as i said i have only had them 7 weeks so i am new to this. I have researched loads on the internet & think its probably best if i seperate her from her sister (Geri) until i know they will all get along together - do you think this is the right thing to do or should i leave them all together? I am planning on building a cage some time this week so i would love it if they could all live together. Thanks for your help.

i hv 2 guinea pigs...i kept them separate for about a couple months, since they seemed to enjoy each other, while hving their own territory...anyways, i recently introduced them, and placed them in a bigger cage, which houses 2 hideouts with a lot more space...but ever since i let them live together, one of them started to kinda resist me...he was actually the closer one to me...everytime i walk by, or stick my hand in to love on them, he does the teeth chatter (meaning stay away)...the other one, however, is completely fine, and he adores my company...is this something to be worried about? should I keep them in separate cages again?

The girl and him have been fighting for some time now. And last night they got in a huge fight and he hurt her eyes theres blood around them and she hurt his feet and his "balls."
I found him this morning on a wooden bed thing (on the top of it) with blood around him. Then I picked him up and he kept bleeding. I put him back in his wooden bed and he kept bleeding. he wont stop, what should I do? Will he bleed to death? I already seperated the hamsters.
