One of your rats is a Dumbo and other I am assuming is a Top-eared. Since there is no such thing as breeds of rats, your two rats are the same species (Rattus Norvegicus), and yes, it is perfectly fine for your rats to live together, as long as they are a same-sex pair, and not a male and a female, or you'll be having babies soon.
Edit:
I see where your question is coming from:

One of your boys is 4 months old, the other is 5 weeks old. My answer is still yes, leave them together, do not separate them.

As the two answers before me said...it's perfectly fine, they just have to be slowly introduced...
If they are both females, then you should have no problem at all...
Take them out and let them play in an inclosed area with your supervision...
A Bath tub is a great introduction spot...
With females, they will usually smell eachother, maybe clean a little, then try to get out of the tub, which is when you know it's safe...
Make sure you clean the cage that you are going to keep them in before you put them both in it...
Move everything around, make it look and smell like a new cage, this way they cannot fight over territory, they both think they are new to it...
With males, it's harder, I usually recomend that males be kept seperately, they tend to not accept a cage mate once they have lived on their own for a while, if they are two males and both relatively young, you can try to do the same thing, but it may not turn out so well, if not, keep the cages next to eachother for a while and try again...
If they still don't get a long, then they most likely never will and need to be kept in different cages...
If it's a male and a female...DO NOT PUT THEM TOGETHER!!!!
They will reproduce faster than you can imagine, and it's not a fun game...lets just leave it at that...
Even if your male ( or your female ) is fixed, they still tend to not get along...
I hope this helps...GOOD LUCK!!!!

There are no breeds of rats. You can put them together, but do intros slowly(especially males). Be sure the introduce them in neutral territory. Clean out the cage you are going to use(to be sure there are no smells of one rat or the other)
Intros should be done over a few weeks. Let them play together, see how they interact(do they fight?). after about two weeks of allowing them to see eachother and play daily them put them in the same cage(while you can watch them both) Increase the cage time they are together little by little.
Be sure to keep an eye on things to be sure one isn't bullying the other. Watch for scratches or weigt loss, etc.

Talk with a vet regarding this. What do most of us know of rats except that they are not wanted in our homes. It's your pet. Get to know the rules and get to know your vet. Your vet is there to help.
