I'm sorry to hear that. Its hard when you have a small child, but with something as serious as pregnancy, I'd try to keep her away from the pigs in the future until she's older & can understand the consequences.

Guinea pigs are not opportunistic ovulators like rabbits. Meaning, they have an actual cycle. So, there is a chance she did not get pregnant. The only way to find out is just wait & see. Gestation is anywhere from 60 to 73 days. Depending upon the age of your sow, she may be at high risk. See http://www.guinealynx.info/breeding.html for more info.

You could talk to your vet about doing a spay immediately, but some will not do that. If you end up having a litter, which averages from 1 to 4 pups, you'll need to prepare to find homes for them. Afterwards, I would highly suggest getting your boar neutered.

Good luck to you.

there isn't much you can do. Guinea pigs breed like rabbits and have babies in just 4 to 6 weeks and then they can breed again. I was breeding Guinea pigs before and had to stop it, separate them because with in no time at all I had 12 Guinea pigs running around. You can just give them away to friends I guess.

well if it is pregnent, the vet won't fix her. I think the best thing to do is have the babies and then sell them or give them to a pet store. The babies are easy to take care of. The mom will do everything and then they switch to food when they are old enough.

Take her to the vet to check whether or not she is pregnant. If she is, just wait until she has the babies and then when they are a few weeks old, give them away to pet stores, or other people

If she is over six months old and has never been bred you run a risk of her hips being fused together. If this is the case you will lose her in the birthing process. You need to get her to a vet if she is over that age.

don't worry too much because guinea pigs and their babies are very easy to look after but don't forget to give them away after about 6-8 weeks as they soon after become sexually active.

certainty verify time right here! while you're desirous to establish a guinea pig breeding employer to make funds forget approximately it. in case you have basically a small herd and you're conscientious approximately care, you will probable spend extra suitable than you're making. we've been elevating Peruvians for 40 years and whether you do no longer count variety our coach expenses, we've in no way come on the component of breaking even. We breed to boost the breed and for coach opposition so loosing funds is nice for us. this is a activity and a exertions of love. If she is 22 oz., 13 weeks is the right age to initiate breeding a sow. besides the shown fact that, think of approximately whether or no longer you particularly need to do it. you have been fortunate so a techniques in no longer having any issues. someplace between a million in 20 and a million in 5 sows die each and each clutter from problems linked with breeding. promoting domestic dogs is a distinctive concern completely than giving them away - this is plenty extra stable. To sell to persons, you may might desire to sell which expenses, even whether this is in simple terms indicators interior the food market. while you're interior the U. S., you ought to have a no longer elementary time promoting to puppy shops. the vast chains have contracts with vast providers and don't purchase domestically. in case you sell extra suitable than $500 quite worth of pigs a year (gross revenues, no longer internet earnings) to puppy shops or puppy keep wholesalers, you may desire to have a USDA license and characteristic your facility inspected for compliance with the animal welfare act. setting up any employer, small or great, demands a stable employer plan in case you have the choose to make any funds. A employer that includes animals has an entire set of ethical and care subject concerns besides. you may desire to have all of them concept out. determine what you will spend on feed, bedding, cage materials, vet costs, promoting etc. Estimate the kind of domestic dogs you assume. Subtract the variety you may desire to keep lower back as replace inventory and you have the variety you could sell. Divide your expenses via the kind of domestic dogs you will might desire to sell. learn that variety to what the puppy storecharges for pigs. in the journey that your variety is extra suitable than a million/3 to a million/2 what they can charge you're no longer susceptible to make any funds because you will might desire to sell for decrease than they do till you have an exceedingly specific product like organic bred coach inventory. My advice - have fun with your pets and don't breed!
