the run can be placed on grass or slabs, if they have never been out in a run before leave them for half hour the first time, so their tummys can get used to eating grass, as domestic rabbits have sensitive tums, not all rabbits are fed greens. if you have them on a patio as well it helps to keep their claws in shape. but must have access to hay and water, all the time,
if on Grass a wire floor is not always needed some rabbit don't want to dig while others do.
If you have a rex rabbit grass is the best option, as on slabs the will wear out the fur on their back feet and could get sore hocks.(this is because the coat on their backs is soft and very fine which means that they have softer fur on their feet) hth

I would have to say rabbit hay that you can buy fro the pet shop. I would say no to the grass because too much grass gives them an upset stomach. Mud would get messy. Sand would get everywhere (like when you go to the beach). They hay is soft and also safe to eat for them.

Ahh this brings back a bright memory from final summer season. I had a summer season job at this place as a upkeep worker and all I did replaced into mow lawns of the premises. So sooner or later there replaced into this infant rabbit that ran out of the timber petrified of the behemoth lawnmower i replaced into using. I cornered it against the wall and it stored working rapidly into it...tumbling and rolling over...attempting to flee. i replaced into rapidly enveloped in a bloodthirsty interest and permit it get away. So all of it set to work. I tagged alongside at the back of it with my blades roaring at finished speed. a grin slowly crept over my face as my eyes fixated in this helpless creature. i could've certainly mutilated it, spraying bloody hunks of flesh over the fairway grass. as much as i wanted to do it, I resisted. I permit the rabbit pass on its merry way (it replaced into in all probability horrified lol). I variety of be apologetic approximately not doing it. My substantial subject replaced into getting caught with the aid of a passerby and being reported to the supervisor. Oh, properly there is often a next time. Btw, i've got in no way killed an animal...yet i've got continuously wanted to objective it :)
