Ok, someone gave me 3 baby squirrels. I think they're maybe around 1-2 weeks old. I've used a syringe to feed them. But how much do they eat when they're that little ?
Also, do they need a heat lamp or a heating pad in with them ? ( any info will be helpful)
Any information will be appreiciated. Thanks.

With over 35 years of full time experience with horses this is a first. One of our geldings has recently had two attacks of fly strike in his sheath. He is 16 years old in very good condition. The poor horse was so uncomfortable, very restless, kicking up at his belly, with a sheath full of maggots eating him alive. He got in to such a state that he then developed colic, luckily mild.Very distressing. It took the vet two visits before discovering the problem as this is aparently very unusual. Has any one come across this? How does it happen? Why at this time of the year, September, when the weather has got colder and there are few flies around? What type of fly does this? What can we do to prevent this? The horse is otherwise healthy, is out in a field during the day, stabled at night and regularly sprayed with a fly spray.

i need some advice from ferret owners on methods that have work for you when it comes to ferret proofing your kitchen. In the rental house i live i have a small kitchen and then a space attached for my washer and dryer which for some reason doesn't have a door in front of it. (For now i have temporarily ferret-proof everything by stuffing towels tightly into every hole they could possible find to crawl into). I was thinking about getting a children's gate to the entrance of my kitchen, but didn't know if that would actually work since one of my ferrets is a semi-good climber. any advice would be appreciated. thanks!

I had peking ducks, slaughtered by german shephards from up the road, those same dogs killed spring lambs that I'd bottle fed.
We had an airedale that was hit by a car... died on the road. I was not there to actually see it [phew]
I had those little green turtles... they'd crawl under my brothers' bed and die in the dust.

I had one small mutt girl who got hit by a car when I was a young teen. She was a 9 month old schnauzer/poodle mix; she still had her stitches from her spaying; she followed my older bro's friends down the street, and I'd asked him to tie her up. I had no shoes on and was helping grandma fix his bleedin dinner. His response after it happened? "not my dog"
And I guess he was right. It was my dog, my responsibility! Which is why I watch over my dog now like a true safety hound!

My daughter just acquired a pet (?) Tarantula. She already owns an African Emperor Scorpion and a Mountain Dragon Lizard, and has previously had Giant Millipedes ... OK, I don't care much for creepy-crawlies. But she loves them, so I try not to get too freaked out.

But this spider ... it's a Rosehair Tarantula ... I'm having a hard time sleeping, knowing this critter is in my house. It's actually quite beautiful, looks kinda soft and fuzzy and pinkish, and doesn't seem to do much. I'm trying to be open-minded, but ...

Any spider-lovers out there? Maybe I just need some information and reassurance. I don't want to insist that she get rid of it, and I'd feel better if I knew the thing wasn't terribly dangerous. If anyone can help me, I'd sure appreciate it!

Thanks to anyone who answers!
