All sorts of things. Dogs of all breeds and mixes, same for cats. Lots of small animals (ferrets, hamsters, hedgehogs, degu's, chinchillas, etc), birds of all types, some shelters even have farm animals (horses, cows, sheep, pigs....), reptiles and amphibians are at some too. It's really if you can have it as a pet, you can find it at a shelter. Not all shelters can take in everything, but in general a shelter will take in any animal and then get it properly rehomed.

I have found mostly dogs and cats but some cary anything. it all depends on who owns the shelter. Use the Internet to find shelters near you and also go old fassioned and use the phone book as some smaller ones dont have web sites and they are the ones you will want to look for if your looking for anythign other than a dog or cat

Most places just have cats and dogs but some have rabbits, goats, birds, ferrets - pretty much anything really. Depend on who is running the shelter.

Besides the standard dogs and cats, ours has a bird room, small rodents (mice, gerbils, hamsters, rats & guinea pigs) and a rabbit room. They don't handle ferrets--they call the ferret group who comes and picks those up and holds them at their rescue or in foster homes.

Yes, of course! I'm sure the answer seemed pretty obvious, haha. Personally, though, I still think the SPCA could have fought for a warrant, but at least the animals are safe now.
