I just adopted a 3 year old male dwarf rabbit a couple of days ago, and his urine appears to contain blood. I can't afford to take him to the vet just yet, so I need some ideas on what could be causing it.

Do you bury or cremate your pets that pass away? If you bury them, where are they located (-your home, pet cemetery, etc.) If you cremate them, are they in an urn or are their ashes scattered?

I cremate my larger animals (dogs, cats) and they each have their own personalized urn. I bury the small animals in the yard or garden of my parents' house.

I am appauled at the number of people on YA who ask questions about sick pets. I am just astounded at how few people provide their animals vetrinary care. People will say in their questions " Don't tell me to take him to the vet, because I can't afford it".

My opinion: If you cannot afford to provide vetrinary care, you shouldn't have the animal.

And if the animal is sick, get off of the computer and take it to a ******* vet!

Is anyone else truly horrified??

Well heres the deal.
My boyfriend is headed off to college in August for his freshman year, and they are allowed to have fish in his dorm.
I am getting him a fish bowl with a fish, but I don't know what kind of fish can live in a bowl without an aerorator (oxygen pump).
What kind of fish can I get him that will live in a bowl?
please help.

My dad is totally not letting me get anything, but if i save up, and prove that i am ready to have it, then maybe he'll let me. I don't want anything huge, and something that i can play with, and cuddle with. I can't get a dog, or a cat, and i already have fish. I am not a big fan of rats or mice, and I want something fuzzy. I don't know any pets like this !!! can you help me?

i am soon to buy a 6 month foal and was wondering if i can put him in with two full grown horses. My second choice would be to put him in with my Minature Donkeys. He is gelded so we wouldn't have to worry about testosterone problems.any thought would be nice.

My lionhead rabbit is starting to shed out her summer coat ready for winter. whenever she sheds it seems to take ages and nomatter how much i brush her Loads more fur comes out when she is stroked or on the sofa (its getting every where).
i have loads of diffrent brushes, mits and combs but is was wondering if a shedding blade would be a good idea.
Im not sure if it would be safe to use it on her or not as i have only seen ones for dogs. so thought that i would ask on hear rather than just getting one and trying it, as i dont want to hurt her. i asked my mate who is a dog groomer in training but she didnt know.

My pomeranian puppy would rather use the litter box than go outside. I have a cat, they really like each other they sleep and play together. I was just wondering if my pomeranian used the same litter box as the cat if the cat would still use it to?? I really don't want 2 litter boxes in my bathroom b/c it is kinda small. What do you people think, has any one experienced this besides me? If so what did you do. He won't even go outside half the time he will hold it until I leave or go to sleep and then relieve hiself in front of the litter box...plz help!

I heard that guinea pigs live longer if they have cage mates. I just got a new mini rex bunny and I've had my satin guinea pig shadow for about two years now! He's almost two and a half. I have had mini rex rabbits before and shadow loved her. They were never in the same cage but they loved to play and after koko died shadow seemed to get depressed. When my new bunny and shadow play the bunny tries to chew on shadows ears and fur but not in a harmful way. I wanted to get a really big cage and house them both in it, but I don't know how they will react and can they eat each others food and not get sick? I just wondered if this was a good idea and if you recommend it because I really want shadow to have a buddy! Shadow and Hala-Kahiki are both male, plzz help! Thanx!

I heard that I should avoid celery and lettuce due to the high water content that can harm their kidney's. They love fresh cut green grass and hay, but Can anyone tell me what the best vegetables are for bunnies to snack on?

We're moving into a terrace house soon with 3 cats and are worried that they will run away. As they've been indoor cats all their lives, they're aged 9 years, 7 years and 7 months respectively, we're worried they won't know how to find their way back once they get out. What can we do besides keeping doors and windows closed and setting up high fences?

We're due to get a rescue cat on Saturday. He's 14 months old and appears very confident, affectionate and playful! The staff at the rescue centre assured us he is 'ok' around other animals, including dogs.

My parents have a 9 year old Springer Spaniel that comes round with them when they visit (which is regularly as they live very near!). We also occasionally look after their dog for them. As far as we know, he doesn't really bother with cats that much.

My questions is, how do we 'introduce' the cat to the dog? Any suggestions or tips? We love Henry (the spaniel!) to bits and don't want him to feel upset we have a new pet, but at the same time we want the cat to gain confidence in his own new home!

Help?!!!
