No. A female will have a stronger musky smell from her vaginal area when she goes into heat every 4-5 days. Some of my females always have the musky odor, some only when they are in heat. Some of mine don't even have that strong an odor when they are in heat.
The only way to know if a female is in heat is if she delivers pups 16 days after she's bred. There are a few other signs but they would be hard for a novice to see. Many females will look pregnant about three days before they deliver but if they're going to have a smalll litter, then they may never look pregnant.
