Horses spook easily. Any sudden noise or movement can set them off.
I've had a horse take off on be because he was startled by a squirrel.
So no, i do not in anyway believe horses see ghost or any of that baloney.
Like said, horses spook over the tiniest thing. Lets put it into theory! My guess is some superstitious loser was riding a horse one day, and it got spooked by lets say, a cat, and this person didn't see the cat or any other cause for the horse's scare. This person also believed his house was haunted. He told his neighbor his horse saw a ghost, and then the neighbor had a horse that spooked, and he claimed it was a ghost. And over time horses just started seeing ghosts, and then demons, and then faeries.... Do you see a pattern? Stories and fear and superstition spreads.

Yes ...... they can tell you things like .... if a storm is coming; if there`s danger on the trail ahead; and they can even detect if their rider is nervous or confident. They can sense a freak storm coming so they will huddle, with their back ends toward
the direction it`s coming from. If they come to a sudden stop on a trail, with both ears pointing straight ahead, you`ll know there`s potential danger close by. If you`re nervous about getting on a horse, but try to pretend you`re not, then you`ll be on the ground much faster then you got on the horse. If you ever decide to ride a horse, remember that they`re main instinct is survival. If you`re nervous, he will sense it, and the battle for seperation will begin, because every horse knows that nervous riders can cause them serious injury, because they have no idea of what they`re doing. When that happens, the horse will win ........... trust me !!!!

I beleive so. They have inborn instinct (fight/flight), and the instinct for survival. They sense and smell fear. They can sense weather changes, and their attitudes can change due to barometric pressure. The sense the fear/relaxaion for their handlers. They sense earthquakes/seismic changes before people do. They can sense danger and see it before a person can.
And they surely have more sense than most people. :-)
