im 13 and i really want a horse but my parents say that i can only get one if i earn 1/2 the money. i even know which horse i want. his name is hobie. does anyone know how to earn money fast? i need it before hobie is sold :-)

Im getting a pet hedge hog monday, but i have a few questions before I do so. I have other types of pets in the home including dogs cats birds fish and a turtle of course so im kinda worried that if one of the dogs was to touch it that it may wound her pretty bad. I also wanted to know what kind of diet would be healthy for my hedge hog, what kind of toys it would prefer and also what temperater or climate it needs in its cage to remain healthy. I also wanted to know if its temperment will change overtime so its not as skitish. also should i use anything special to handle this type of creature. all answers to this question are greatly appretiated. any additional advice on this as well would be greatly appreciated.

so... my fetter has always loved eatting and he has always been fat basically his whole life... just this week he started looking skinner... now today when i gave him and his sister a bath he was extremly skinny. i cant get him to the vet... and i dont have any medicine for ferrets. he looks really bad... im only 15 so i cant drive and knowone is home to take me to get him medicine and by the time they get home the petstore will be closed. what can i do? he doesnt seem to be eatting and i cant get him to drink... he is walking weired (weak) and all he wants to do is lay down. im so upset right now... and i dont get why he is sick because his sister is very healthy and spunky.

if anyone can give me some advice of what to do or what i can give him to make him better please PLEASE let me know!!

DONT say im cruel when i say this...cause im really not!!! but my hamster is like 7months old i think?! n i have had him since august 5th 2006. on the 3rd day i had had him, i got him out for the first time, n he jumped out of my hand! n then i struggled 2 try n pick him up again n then he bit me! i finaly got him in his cage again. i havent held him since, and its february 2007! i hav got him out in his ball, n i have tried 2 stroke him when he is in the cage, but i really wish i could just be normal with him. i had another hamster who i was really close to n i could take her out n just have on my lap n play with me, she NEVER bit me. so when she died i thought i would be fine with another one, but ofiously not. what can i do cause i think it is too late 2 suddenly start getting him out of his cage n handling him since that long ago!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help!!

If so I want to know any crazy stories about them. As a parent I guess we have to experience these things. My boys have been dying to get a hamster, so I ok'd it. We got two of course. And low and behold I get stuck taking care of them like any other animal we ever get. Any way after a few months of cleaning these nasty stinky rodents cage over and over again and to make this long story short, one of these little boogers found away out. So one night I see one of the hamster scury across the floor, I go to catch him and grab him by the back of the neck, he fights for all dear mercy to get away, and before I could get him in the cage he turns and bites the living fire out of me, I bled like a stuck pig. So then I have to go to the health clinic the next day and get a tetanus shot. So after all of that we put there cage on the back porch and several days later they both found away to knaw there self out of the cage. We are all relieved lol. So I guess a dog next?

My Chihuahua is a very good gentle dog When I give my guinea pig floor time and my chihuahua is around my guinea pig starts pop corning. I've read that when guinea pig jump like that is because they are happy but in this case I don't know if she is happy or afraid. (My chihuahua is almost as big as the guine pig)

If an animal is red listed for euthanization because it's not getting adopted, why not give it to someone for free? I understand that it cost to spay/neauter, board and all that other good stuff. But if you are about to put the animal down, it just seems ridiculous to still make someone pay to save the animal.

My neighbor heard of a dog being put down so she went to go get the dog and take it to her organization, which places animals in homes without killing them. Because it was last minute, she didn't have the $150 cash (yes cash, they didn't except checks or cards) to get the dog out. The shelter was getting ready to close, so she couldn't run to the bank and they refused to wait. Luckily, there was a ma there looking for his lost dog, heard what happened, and put up the $150 for her to get it. I thought the entire situation was ridiculous.

My goats were really cold and shivering, so I looked on ebay for goat blankets (like mini horse blankets). But they seemed overpriced to me, so I went to Dollar General and bought men's sweatshirts and put them on my goats. (I'm serious!) They fit really well, but is it safe to leave them on my goats while I'm gone? Could they get hung up on something, even though the shirts aren't baggy on them? Serious answers, PLEASE! :)

Hello,

I have leased a pony for the last four years and rode for eight. I may be moving and would like to purchase the pony. I know about ownership and don't tell me (PLEASE) that it just costs a lot. I figure it's around $4,000 a year. That is supplying vet, farrier and hay. What other expenses am I looking at, either then those or the horse? I know about ownership, do not warn me against it. I have a barn do not say I shouldn't buy a horse without careful consideration or knowing about the animal!

in the respect that all they require is a big enough cage+ the necessities like food, water and attention? Is there anything special that they require? Are they friendly and easy to handle? Do they bite? I would appreciate anything you can tell me about them? Thank you!

I found what I'm assuming is a tapeworm in my rabbit's feces. It's long, white, and segmented. However, all my rabbits appear to be healthy and well fed. Maybe I'm wrong, but they don't look as though they'd been troubled by any tapeworm. I'm fairly sure one of the rabbits passed the worm, though. This raises many questions.

1. Do I have to worry about my rabbit getting more tapeworms now that this one is passed? Did it lay eggs in my rabbit?

2. We have multiple rabbits. Based on where I found the feces, one of two rabbits had the tapeworm. How do I figure out which one?

3. Should I worry about my other rabbits getting a tapeworm?

4. Should I take my rabbit to the vet, or is there something I can do at home? Do I have nothing to worry about now that the worm is passed?

5. How did it get the tapeworm in the first place?

At school, we can't have pets with feathers, fur, or fangs. I'm getting sea urchins but was hoping for something a bit more cuddly... or at least something that will interact with me more than moving their spines awkwardly... any ideas (besides reptiles... the school doesn't take well to those either, plus they weird me out a little)?
