Abolutely, no problem ! Different species are unable to mate with each other, even if both animals were intact (not spayed or neutered), it's not biologically possible! Mother Nature regulates her own quite nicely!! Additionally, I think it's great that your cat & dog are so well socialized, that they accept one another's company with ease. So much for the myth that cats & dogs can't live comfortably together.

I lived in a place where the unspayed dog would have his way with the cat. No joke. Don't worry, no freaks of nature babies ever occurred. And if they did, you could sell them to a circus.

No, do not ever let your dog sleep with your cat. They create offspring similar of that to a possum or a rat. The only time you can let this happen is if you have your cat or dog spayed or neutered.
