First, I bought Melody. She's about a year old now. I just bought another female guinea pig. They seemed to be getting along ok at first, but then Melody kept biting the other one's ears and chasing her away. My new guinea pig has even bit Melody a couple of times. Oh yeah, I bought the new guinea pig yesterday. (Jan. 1) Is it still to soon to assume they don't like each other? I only have one cage, besides an empty hamster cage, that I could put the new one in. I tried putting the new guinea pig in the hamster cage, but it was way too small for her. Would exchanging the new female for a male be a better idea? If so, where could I find a male? When I bought the new guinea pig at Petsmart they said they don't sell male guinea pigs. Do males come neutered when you buy them? Please help me out!

When is the male ok to go back in with the females after they have a litter? I found out my male was eating the babies, and have him separated right now. The babies are starting to get fuzzy but are still at the pinky stage. 7-8 of them out of 1 or both females.
At what point will he most likely not eat them anymore?
Do most male mice eat the babies? If need be, I can feed him out and get another male.

Hi I have kept two male mice together for the past 12 months, unfortunatly one of them has recently died, leaving the other to live alone, in a very large cage. My question is will it be okay to introduce another mouse to him, even though the new mouse would proberly be quite a bit younger. It seems a shame to let him live alone as he has always had a friend. Please can you give me any advise? Thanks. Jason.

ok, my brother has a haflinger pony and he is the stereotypical pony. what he has started to do is while leading him on the ground he likes to pull the lead out of your hand and run off. nobody wants to get rope burn on their hands, so they don't hold on to him. (understandable) the problem is he has learned all he's gotta do is pull and he's free! i don't know how to stop this, it's really frustrating. please...any suggestions would be a God send. thank you!

Are there any water bottles or other water sources for a guinea pig that will keep the cage cleaner for more than one day? I know she's looking for attention by emptying her bottle but I can't keep changing her cage on a daily basis. I need some suggestions.

I just want to know other peoples opinions.

Although very unfortunate, the little girl killed on New Years Day has been spread all over the news. Lots of protests about "dangerous dogs" have been raised.

Is it the dogs fault? Or are owners to blame? How about the parents irresponsibilty?

The dog killing that girl was a "Pit bull type". It had been given an official warning from a dog warden, and had attacked another dog. If so WHY did the Aunthorities NOT recognise it as a a "pit bull".
And why was the child left unsupervised with a dog known to have attacked before?

Tiny children and dogs don't mix. Children don't know how to act around dogs, it's not the fault of the dog in my opinion.

What do you think??
