males usually cant be together. Most rodents are very territorial. The males each want their own space. The best bet in the future is to get two young females. Males also want to mate all the time. They may never get along.

My suggestions. Get a second cage, or give one of the hamsters to someone else.

It is never easy to have 2 06 more hamsters together in one cage. You ask well how do we more little hamsters? Good ?
I was told at the pet center that a male and female are easier to have together than the other ways.
Now having said that they also say that if a hamster has been alone for any length of time it is very hard for them to be amiable. And they said that male + male is alot easier than female+female ever will be.
But it is always better to start with two that have been colonized with other hamsters than just adding one to another. Good Luck

Are they Campbell's, Winter White, or Roborovski dwarf hamsters? If yes, then you can probably do the neutral area introduction mentioned above. These hamsters thrive best in bonded pairs. If it is a Chinese dwarf hamster, they are solitary and will fight like Syrian hams do. If all else fails, you can keep them in separate cages kept close together so they can communicate.

They fight because they are both males.
The male of any any species of animal, has a territory to protect & by putting 2 males together in the same cage,is asking for trouble.

see,it's the male more than the female, that marks his territory & in many cases, will fight to the death to protect it.

If you wish to stop them from fighting, they ONLY way to stop the fighting is to have seperate cages...or get rid of one of the animals.

The 2 hamsters both think they are the "man of the house" so just get a nother cage and have them in seperate cages not close to each other.

I have this problem too because I have hamster, USUALLY it is best to seperate the two. Iknow it means more work for you, cleaning two cages but all-in-all it will help your hamsters and prevent worse fights from occuring, possible death.

You need a female with each male and you need the couples in there own cages. A male can not be in the same cage as another male.

You aren't supposed to put two male hamsters in the same cage. If you do, like in your case, the hamsters will fight. I advice you to keep them in separate cages.

You answered your own question..2 males will usually fight. You know how boys are! You will probably have to split them up or give one away. Same with a girl and a boy...you know what they will be doing all the time! ;)

They are both males. Males can get very territorial. Sometimes they fight to the death. I suggest getting a second cage so they don't fight easch other and you won't get hurt. They won't either.
