What do you mean he is tugging on your skin? Like biting? Biting is bad. Nibbling? Well, I guess they chew lots of stuff, so maybe......but my gerbils never bit me unless I was mean to it. Do you have enough chew toys for it in it's cage?
And how do you know he likes you? Did he tell you?

how do you know he likes you, did he tell you? i bet he hates you and he's tugging so he's away from you.
or maybe that's his way of petting you.. talk to him some more.

i agree w/ the salt thing, i had ferrets and thay would lick me, and i was told it was bcuz we have salt on our skin
